I think I let it cool after a long cut maybe? The biggest thing for me is there are zero scratches on the piston. I don't recall seeing that with other oils I've used. Recall being the key word. I know I got scratches with ultra. pretty sure with lucas. not sure with 800 h1r schaeffers.

thought you were going to try hp2 @ 40:1 next?
One thing about oil like stihl mix ,the carbon will flake off ,and it possibly scratches the piston skirt .

40:1 seems to be just right for how I tune a saw,I've tried 32:1 but oil was everywhere.

I've always ran klotz, not because I think it's the best it's because the vp station sells it and it's good enough for my saws.
I like the 4 oz to a gallon which is 32:1. Sometimes I just pour out of the jug if it's clear and has measurements on it.

I was bored so i thought i would read up on the product safety data sheet on redmax 2 cycle oils and seen a chemical i have not seen in any 2t oils, It was Ethylbenzene never thought i would see octane booster in a oil. This is the first i noticed it..... Is this a common additive used in oil or no?

Seems they know the oil will lower the octane?

Redbull -
Hey dude, another one for ya. How ya doing? It's Friday! :-)
Besides h1r not lowering or raising octane. Would something with more solvents raise or lower octane? Like si-7 ?

Belray - Andrew:

I’m doing well, because the solvent does vaporize much more readily it does have more of an effect on the octane of the fuel than the oil would. The oil should vaporize and burn so slowly that its affect on octane is negligible. So with the more rapid volatization of the solvent, you’ll have a higher concentration in the fuel vapors and yes it could change the octane more readily than oil would. The effect of Si-7 should be fairly mild like I mentioned before. I wouldn’t expect it to change the octane by any more than 0.5 points; I doubt even that much, but I don’t have the data to back that up. I also mentioned before that changing the mix ratio won’t affect the octane rating, but I think you mentioned going from 42:1 to 50:1 in that case. However, if you went from 25:1 to 100:1 you probably would see a difference.

Took the tiny tach off the old carpet cleaner onan engine ,mounted to an old cylinder cover i had for testing ,had to shorten the coax and resolder the wires back on to the coax cable to get wires to tuck into a saw .should make testing easier to check the rpm's ,be nice if there was a way to reset the hour meter ,but that is no big deal really .,the holes lined up with the oem tag holes close enough to attach with 2 --1/8 rivets ,hopefully it reads the same on the saw as the onan engine did
