Before I knew better I ran tons of tcw api tc oils in lots of air cooled stuff. Most notably in some free air sleds in the 80s and early 90s only stuck one sled motor on a 45* day riding in slush snow. Now I think itsnot the best stuff but surly better then 30 wt motor oil of old days. Use it up tune a little rich and mix it a little heavy around 32-40:1 and run it. Tuning rich helps deal with the low temp oil. For that price is run it forsure.
Running a marine oil richer will just gum your motor up sooner. The problem with marine oils is two fold First off is the fact that they don't use detergents. Instead they use dispersents, which do not work at higher temps. Second off they use heavier base oils to deal with the higher loads of marine engines. These tend to not combust fully, nor cleanly in OPE engines which are not loaded nearly as hard as an outboard.

IMG_0176.JPGThis stuff can be bought at my local coop for 75 cents a quart. They have cases stacked up of the stuff. Nobody will buy it since they offer opti and some tall timber synthetic. Anybody thinks of a use for it or wants some let me know

Does it stick to the metal the same way?
Quote: Polarity also causes the ester molecules to be attracted to positively charged metal surfaces. As a result, the molecules tend to line up on the metal surface creating a film which requires additional energy (load) to wipe them off. The result is a stronger film which translates into higher lubricity and lower energy consumption in lubricant applications.
