i run 32:1 pennzoil outboard in my lawnboy never a problem and the sparkplug and exhaust port doesn't carbon.
The older ones were more prone to port blockage. The oils used back in the day didn't help matters. With the use of TCW3 oils amd the newer engine designs port blocking was pretty much a non issue.

Here is my current duraforce. This engine was ran on air cooled only on occasion. Mostly to get rid of dirt bike gas that was more than a few weeks old.
As you can see the head is loaded with mettalic ash deposits.

Maybe the old dirt bike gas did that , why didn't you drain it ?
I was a LB dealer for some time and again I saw no unusual deposits or any unusual issues running a good 2 cycle oil .
That's all I have to say , not my mower....not my problem .

If the bike gas is more than a few weeks old I won't use it in a bike. Works just fine in a mower. Gas wasn't bad in any way other than it sat for more than a few weeks in sealed containers.
If you are a dealer I would expect you to know why LB reccomends ashless tcw3 type oils and that their logic is sound.
The deposits shown in the pic above are text book mettalic ash deposits. Again, there is a sound reason for Lb's reccomendations.
Non ethanol premium BTW.

I ran some vp 40:1 and true fuel. I think I like the premium 91 octane and red armor or dolmar synthetic better. I ran a couple of tanks of husqvarna pre mix 50:1 and it is ok but I can't tell any big difference.

Somebody had ask what my afm BB372 and my afm 066 piston tops look like in my poulans on kl200. Thinking @Moparmyway

This piston has 8-10 tanks of KL-200 through it since new. I like them set on the fat side for long firewood cuts.

No hurry here, its just wood and aint going nowhere :risas3:. Plus aint racing nobody. ;)

Well I have been using Castrol activ 2T mineral oil at 40:1 for a while now and am really happy with it.
Bugger all smoke, inoffensive fumes, smells like..... oil and leaves a nice coat in the motor.
Seems to burn really clean as well.

I have also started using Castrol TTS at 50:1 in my wipper snipper and will likely try it at 40:1 in the saws over summer when cutting in hot conditions
