The Duraforce engine is known for running pretty lean. In fact many guys drill out the jets. Mine is stock and it was in the mid 30's temp wise..last cut of the year I hope. The temp alone would lean the motor out much more than a change in ratio.I bet at 32 to 1 it would have spooged less ,would have leaned it out some .
In the Stihl manual it says if using Stihl brand oil, run it at 50:1, if using any other oil run it at 25:1. That is the extreme. So what is the new fad oil for October? Diesel fuel with 80-90 at 16:1 ftw. Haha
im running a different mix since my dad mixed up some this time 5.2 ounces per gallon its a little smoky when cold.In the Stihl manual it says if using Stihl brand oil, run it at 50:1, if using any other oil run it at 25:1. That is the extreme.
If it's TCW3 rated I wouldn't use it in OPE except for Lawn Boy mowers which specifically call for outboard oil. Find you some air cooled 2 stroke oil preferably JASO FD rated.I have 8 gallons of direct injection outboard engine oil. Can I make 2 cycle gas with it. It looks a little bit different than the regular 2 cycle oil. Lighter in color, but about the same thickness. What is the difference?

This , outboards run cooler because they are water cooled and the temp range they run at is pretty constant because of that while air cooled such as a chainsaw can run much hotter and temp range varies by outdoor temps and the like so the oil needs to be formulated to that to lube properly .If it's TCW3 rated I wouldn't use it in OPE except for Lawn Boy mowers which specifically call for outboard oil. Running air cooled oil in a Lawn Boy causes serious mettalic deposit issues on the piston crown and head. Not to mention spark plugs foul much easier. This , outboards run cooler because they are water cooled and the temp range they run at is pretty constant because of that while air cooled such as a chainsaw can run much hotter and temp range varies by outdoor temps and the like so the oil needs to be formulated to that to lube properly .
While Lawn-Boy recommends TCW3 oils a good 2 stroke oil is fine in those and I find it actually burns cleaner in mine just using my 40:1 saw mix . LB mower is hardly breaking a sweat when they are running at 3200-3800 RPM .
If your duraforce is spinning more than 4k rpm a new short block is in your future. The big and small end rod bearings are the weak link.I've got a LB mower can they turn higher rpms than that mine is a 6.5 horse thoughts were for a chain saw mill with the blade turned flat, but not enough rpms for good chain speed.

Stick with an ashless chemistry tcw3 oil for a Lawnboy.
Its certainly your right to do what you please. You can preach that all you want but I don't buy it .
I've run and rebuilt LB's for years and have never seen any ill effect from using any good 2 cycle oil in them .
