One of these days im going to tear down this leaf blower and saw i got here running 100:1. Other than tuning different they run bout the same as before. A bit more heat, around 50-70* hotter. I am betting they have a fairly drier bottom end, but id bet that if ran with a bit of sence you could run about about oil at even 75:1. Id like to see how many hours a saw could run at about 150:1 wfo non stop unless just for refuiling bar burried before blowing up. Id bet we would get tired of refueling the dam thing. Is high lean ratios going to wear out stuff faster? Yes im sure it will, but at 50:1 with about any quality oil you are pretty safe. Especially if you know how to jet and tune its no problem. I think alot of people would learn a bunch from a torture test. I still like to run richer then 50:1 in about everything i own. Mostly because everything i own gets used to the max. My skis, quad, saws, whip, blower, genny, and outboards get tuned sharp and ran hard.
Results may very but ive seen some crazy stuff and very few failures from oil. Most of what happens is usually a issue from oil injection abd or other mechanical failures. Especially from people not setting up stuff incorrect. Pistin cyl clearance, jacking with timing, pipes, heads and carbs without the brains to set up your stuff correct to application.
