So since everyone has a "winner" in this oil discussion wouldn't it make sense to start at the failure rate of each oil and work things backwards? Do we have any failures and of which mixing oil?

One thing is certain, when there is a failure it brings the subjectivism down to a low whimper. Does anyone have pics to share of a failure? If not then is there a real "wrong" to any oil correctly mixed and tuned correctly.
Show me failures.

tune them fat and run 32:1 hard to have failure unless it is related to crank case seals and uncle obammy's corn gas.

Redbulls test raise just as many questions as they answer. They also are only looking at two parameters, speed and heat.
Your observations and the conclusions you draw are subjective in nature and really only focused on on thing, residual oil.
Redbull at least has data.
I am not saying your favored oil is crap, although it might be. What I am saying is really you have evaluated it's worthiness based on one factor and deemed it better than others. This logic is pretty flawed, especially given the parameter you used in its evaluation.
I don't say this to brick your balls, but rather pointing out some holes in your logic.
One other thing I wpuld point out is your comment a few pages back where you alluded to the fact I said Yam 2R is the best. I never made such a statement. What I have consistently said was that it's a great oil at a good price and that it has a very long track record in many different sports. Are there other oils as good or better? Sure, there probaly are, but I can guarantee that very few to none have as long a track record over a large variety of sports.
How would u suggest we find the holy grail of oils?

True enough. Ben I have a question though. You have alluded to the fact of the reasons I have chosen kl200 to run as my favorite and the test procedures I used, so how do u know my testing procedures or if I may have more data? U only know what I have stated here as my favorite attributes of kl200

Ben,

based on my limited experience with Yamalube 2R it works great even tough it is not a JASO fd certified oil.

I use Motul 710 now ( I know it is supposed to be injector oil )
JASO fd and viscosity close to 2R.

Everything 40:1

I run about 2 gallons a month on my saws so I am a small time user.

I enjoy Redbull's tests but 1 second faster or slower won't make a difference with me as I am not in to cookie cutting.

Have a gid night guys

I have had two failures. One snowmobile on Redline TRO and one bike on Klotz ST. Both had nothing to do with the oil itself. Detonation did both in.
I also had two lawn boys puke PTO bearings. Both where ran mostly on the reccomended TCW3 oils.
Posted pics of the last lawnboy and and the bike already. Don't have pics of the sled but they where posted on AS years ago

I suggest you stop looking as there is no such thing. And I don't say this to be a smart azz. Some oils will work better on the high load end of the spectrum, but perform poorer over all. Some, like the Castors and castor blends might prevent a seizure, but at the cost of lowering piston/cylinder life. Everything is a trade off.
Thats why the average wood tick will be well served by running a Jaso FD oil.

Who don't like an oil thread... and to add some fuel to the fire.... I mix at 41.0256410256:1 with 92.4 octane.

It's easy, add 6 bottles of the 1 gl 50:1 mix bottles to a 5 gl can, add 4 gl 87 E-00 and 1 gl 114 race fuel.

Thanks, and your welcome... [emoji14]

Dude! Thanks.
I'm sitting out front of the hotel with my wife and I burst out laughing! Now we are both laughing. I've never seen anything quite like that.
I guess if you've got em, you mine as we'll find a use for them.

It wouldnt matter if I did Ben it would still be debatable and subjective. Its a waste of time here but I do know what I did, why, and how I derived at the point Im at now and have no intentions or reason to look any farther

Not all data is subjective.
