Same here ,good stuff ,milling i do not need the extra oiler anymorei use durex or starfire brand its red
Its not only not the right oil for a chainsaw, it's pretty crappy outboard oil.I have 2 friends that work for Asplundh and that's all they use. I fix their saws and they also were extremely clean on the inside after a year of running that oil daily. It states on the jug that it is suitable for chainsaws.
My Walmart doesn't sell the aircooled stuff at all.I dont understand why anyone would go and buy tcw3 when there is aircooled oil right beside it in the store? But Ive used just about every oil there is out there and they all make carbon, stink like hell, and reduce friction. DuMonde has the least smell of any oil Ive used
I seen some saber at a gas station tonight. $7 for 8oz..F that!I normally would have never used it as it's not a certified oil. One thing a engine builder showed me years ago is to always use good certified oils. A few years ago a guy I worked with used the saber in his stuff. Specifically 6x6s air cooled vintage snowmobiles and harley golf carts. Some even were bushing motors. He ran any rayltio from 24:1 to 80:1 it worked well. That 6 wheeler ran hot and worked it's nuts off and that he ran @ 80:1 and still does .
That MSDS is pretty concerning to me...I've wanted to try original techniplate for a while. @Cut4fun was very generous and sent me a quart...
Decided to do a little mini test to see if it was worth running it in a new saw to see how it looks. So I put it up against schaeffers which is one of my top 3 so far. I used the same chain. Which was already used a good deal. It's a custom RS half skip I made .404. 28" tsumura. 91 ethanol free purchased today for both.
log1
schaeffers 32:1 - 9.3 9.5
klotz orig Tech 32:1 - 9.0 9.1
log 2
Schaeffers 32:1 - 16.6
klotz orig tech 32:1 - 16.3
log 3
Schaeffers 32:1 - 19.4
klotz orig tech 32:1 - 19.1
Also took the max piss rev reading after the final log 3 cut
Schaeffers 32:1 - 13480
klotz orig tech 32:1 -13640
note: For the switch from schaeffers to klotz original techniplate. I did not run a reset.
note 2 : I ran each oil for a while on a different chain to get the gas oil through the system. Then switched to the test chain and topped off gas and oil for the actual test cuts.
note 3: see pics - plenty of oil on both pistons.
note4 - for me the results (looks decent enough on the piston, higher RPM, slightly faster times) are encouraging enough to run some of this stuff in a new 661 and see how it looks after say 3 gallons.
note 5 - https://www.klotzlube.com/Ecommerce/site/content/PDFs/MSDS/MSDS-2014-KL-200.pdf klotz original techniplate MSDS ...see section II. Gotta like that!
My wally world had the synthetic silver bottle stuff on a totally different aisle than the normal oils. I wanna say it was on the air tool or welding aisle. Seemed weird to me too.My Walmart doesn't sell the aircooled stuff at all.

You've got me wanting to try saber now. How does it smell? That's about double what it is here
I have seen the miser crew use it in snowmobiles, saws and boats. There is much better tcw3 oils out there.Personally I've had no trouble with supertech tcw3 in outboard motors. I've used 10 gallons of it per year in 2 different motors since 1996. But then again, that's my experience, not something someone else said
I have the right oil, just a little testing to see if there is a difference. I'm not advocating for anyone else to do it.Its not only not the right oil for a chainsaw, it's pretty crappy outboard oil.
Idk. I've never had any mechanical failures in snowmobiles or outboards using it. Or any other 2 stroke, for that matter.I have seen the miser crew use it in snowmobiles, saws and boats. There is much better tcw3 oils out there.
I also tested a few other cheap tcw3 oils when I owned and operated a fishing lodge. Running 40+ outboards sucks up alot of oil so saving money isn't a bad thing. With this in mind I found that once you got below the price point of the OEM oils stuff went down hill pretty fast. Stuff like penzoil syn and Amsoil HP injector where pretty good but also more alot more expensive.
IME, it'll plug up the spark screen after 20 gallons of mix, and it leaves a dry chalky carbon on the piston and the exhaust port, but nothing below the rings. I posted pics on AS, but no longer have them. And I gave the original 1988 Jred 625 p/c (that had been run on it since it was 5 years old) away in the Christmas threadI have the right oil, just a little testing to see if there is a difference. I'm not advocating for anyone else to do it.

Thanks, I'm going to have to try it in the weedwackers atleast. It doesn't smell that bad IMO. Everyones smeller is different, some love the smell of Klotz, but it gags me.
Try some and see.
I need to try some saber. Have you used Interceptor? I have used some of that. Has a unique smell to it, but no dye. Its injection oilIt doesn't smell that bad IMO. Everyones smeller is different, some love the smell of Klotz, but it gags me.
Try some and see.
