@bwalker also Maxima formula k2, are any of those better than 2r?
I don't care for 800, especially in a saw for several reasons. 710 is a injection/premix oil which I don't like to run.
K2 is great oil, but it's vast over kill for chainsaw use and it's pretty expensive.
2R is pretty tough to beat and I would not hesitate to use it for general chain saw use, including milling.
Honestly, "better" is a pretty vague thing. what I can tell you is 2R burns very clean when tuned properly at the 32:1 ratio I greatly prefer, it protects against corrosion very well, which is an issue in saws, tunes easily,is reasonably priced and has provided for very long life in every application I have ran it in.

@KenJax Tree 201c-m vs 200t opinion, and what oil ratio you going to run in that jewel she will be worth every penny brother in a tree....

The 200T is a legend and always will be. I hated the 201T when it first came out like everyone else did. I like the 201T better now that they've update the newer saws and the MTronic made it even better.

The 200T was a balls to the wall on the verge of explosion high revving screaming hotrod. The 201T doesn't rev as high but IMO has more torque with the bar buried and is still fast enough to get through the cut to bomb branches straight down.

For the price used 200T's are going for i'll buy a new 201T

All my saws get Amsoil Saber 40:1.

So far, so good.
I normally would have never used it as it's not a certified oil. One thing a engine builder showed me years ago is to always use good certified oils. A few years ago a guy I worked with used the saber in his stuff. Specifically 6x6s air cooled vintage snowmobiles and harley golf carts. Some even were bushing motors. He ran any rayltio from 24:1 to 80:1 it worked well. That 6 wheeler ran hot and worked it's nuts off and that he ran @ 80:1 and still does .

I've wanted to try original techniplate for a while. @Cut4fun was very generous and sent me a quart...

Decided to do a little mini test to see if it was worth running it in a new saw to see how it looks. So I put it up against schaeffers which is one of my top 3 so far. I used the same chain. Which was already used a good deal. It's a custom RS half skip I made .404. 28" tsumura. 91 ethanol free purchased today for both.

log1
schaeffers 32:1 - 9.3 9.5
klotz orig Tech 32:1 - 9.0 9.1

log 2
Schaeffers 32:1 - 16.6
klotz orig tech 32:1 - 16.3

log 3
Schaeffers 32:1 - 19.4
klotz orig tech 32:1 - 19.1

Also took the max piss rev reading after the final log 3 cut
Schaeffers 32:1 - 13480
klotz orig tech 32:1 -13640

note: For the switch from schaeffers to klotz original techniplate. I did not run a reset.

note 2 : I ran each oil for a while on a different chain to get the gas oil through the system. Then switched to the test chain and topped off gas and oil for the actual test cuts.

note 3: see pics - plenty of oil on both pistons.

note4 - for me the results (looks decent enough on the piston, higher RPM, slightly faster times) are encouraging enough to run some of this stuff in a new 661 and see how it looks after say 3 gallons.

note 5 - https://www.klotzlube.com/Ecommerce/site/content/PDFs/MSDS/MSDS-2014-KL-200.pdf klotz original techniplate MSDS ...see section II. Gotta like that!

Wonder why the cut times were better with kl200? Combusting better? Kl200 has a distinct smell doesnt it?

confused does schindawa make or echo? There is also a grey bottle and black bottle?

Do u plan on testing the kl200 @ 32to1 & 42to1?

In theory they should have been slower (using the same chain and wasn't cutting the outside dried piece). I guess I don't know and at this stage of the game I am not sure I really care much anymore. lol It looks really good so i am going to run it in the saw for 3 gallons and see how it compares.

Looking forward to the oil test...36" bar .404 full comp on a good hot day....should really push the oils harder than I have up to this point. Hoping to see some even bigger differences. Just hope I don't blow up the saw doing it. The ported 661 runs about 50 degrees hotter than a stock saw.

View attachment 25662 Just finished my first gallon of WalMart Supertech at 32:1.
Says outboard on the bottle ,long term you will have a lot of baked on black goo inside your engine if keep running tc-w3 type oil in a saw.
If set on walmart oil ,the oil Keith recommended may be better in the silver bottle marked air cooled .
