I'm mixing with VP SEF.....
But a few months ago I got a 5gal pail of C9 at a crazy cheap price.

It's all pricey *s-word.....but to me it's worth not rebuilding carbs and replacing fuel lines.
Heck.....5gal last me almost a full yr

I have super and that picture of the piston of a 7900 was ran with it. I think the deposits are more a product of the gas and not the oil as much as we thought.
Although I will say that the Echo FD certified synthetic left more deposits than the mix I run now ............... all with VP

I've not ran enough VP through one saw to see if it's the fuel. I've been lucky to get a tank a month lately. I did run Matt's 7900 out last night. I cut cookies for right at a whole tank. Its got VP now and the piston top wasn't real dirty. He's been running Lucas from what I remember.

They mostly run too rich. Especially ported. Had a 576 that would 4 stroke with a 20" unless you run an 8 pin and pushed hard. The 550 was finicky on fuel and really needed 40:1 with a thinner oil than 800 or Belray for sure.

I was told the 576 has the older technology Autotune , what makes you think you needed richer mixture or different viscosity? On the 550 Just curious

The 550 ran better with a thinner oil like k2 over 800. The 576 ran pig rich with every oil with a short bar.

I ran 5 or 6 tanks through a ported 33cc saw ................ took forever to do it too
But - I started with a clean piston and ended up with less than a fingernail of wash for the transferr area on the piston top with the Echo.
I never cleaned it up, but now it looks about the same as the 661 with 20% wash over each of the transferrs now. All I did was switch oils and run the same VP fuel

I think they both influence the deposits, maybe more the fuel than the oil

I like H1/R exhaust fumes. They smelly yummy. The raw mix gas fumes burn the chit outta my eyes though.
