I meant not as hard as like hickory not a softwood

On the Janka hardness scale, scale for testing wood hardness, live oak has a value greater than 2000 while red oak is around 1300. Hickory is around 1600 best I remember.

Lot of gum species down this way. It'll burn if it's rotten. If you try and split sweet gum with a maul, it's like hitting rubber.

U reckon thoso loggers use sunoco 110 and 800t? . Couldnt u see tellin them to buy fuel at 9$ per gal. And oil at 25qt? Think Monkey woulda went for it?

loggers here use 87 pump gas because the freshest fuel matters. we use 87 e10 at work.
