Few gallons of benol 40:1View attachment 22154
That's similar to how some of my pistons looked while running Stihl oils. I haven't checked any of them since switching to Lucas oil at 40:1.

I suspect it has as much to do with the fuel and tuning and running habits as much as anything.

I'd say that's why.
It's burning all of it
Kinda what I suspect too. Im interested to see what Kevins 661 does with straight kl200 compared to his mix he has been using. Im gonna predict he will like the kl200 better and that his saw runs better

If it runs any better than it does now, I might just start farting golddust and plum crazy purple plops

amsoil is wrong i got a mower that specs a TCW3 so i could run either saber outboard or hp injector in it.
You can run a low ash FD type oil in a mower, you just end up fouling plugs more often and having more deposits to clean off the head. OTOH with a TCW3 oil you typically have more exhaust port and muffler deposits to de-carbon.

Port shape has a lot to do with deposits, dead spots where it eddies build up. Where the carbon builds up is a great place to start as far as modifying the port shape to improve flow. Some poor designs will accumulate carbon run on the cleanest oils where as a better shape can run castor with little build up at all. You see this often if you look closely, many blame oil for what is a poor port design/shape.

What mower?

Pretty sure that chart is more recent and wasn't with lawn-boy in mind. And the guys that still run them know what to use.
