Hey ......... You might be on to something, mixxing R50 with another oil to cut down on the smellI poured the rest of my 50/50 mix of R50 and Dominator cocktail from yesterday in my blower today and I think it smells pretty darn good. Even the neighbor asked what kind of fuel I was using[emoji1]. The R50 provides the rust protection and the Dominator kills some of the Klotz smell.
Yeah its pretty nauseating by itself.R50 is the only klotz that stinks.
I don't use it and I love klotz.
Why not just buy a different oil instead of mixing it with another?
That's what I did,I didn't like the smell so I stopped using it. Lol
Well at least I can have good coffee shipped in...[emoji6]That is such B.S.
Bummer.I don't use it. I went out riding with some buddies yesterday and left my oil (golden spectro) on the truck bumper so when we got to the gas station I didn't have any oil so i got some from 2 other guys and there wasn't enough Dominator left to mix my 2.5 gallons so i just mixed it with some R50.
I had some mix left and needed to fuel my blower so I used the rest of it up
In my saws and OPE i use Saber.
That's all I ever ran in my jet skis.Bummer.
I liked gold spectro back in my riding days
what kind?ordered some fuel fragrances.... maybe it can overcome bad smelling oils.
let me warn you. Don't put to much in the tank when your first try it. Because you nose gets use to it like body odor after awhile. I made that mistake when I first tried It I got use to the smell and thought I couldn't smell it so I kept adding and adding then I went inside and got the old lady out to the garage because Of course I did a proper piss revving with the door shut. She said All it smelled like was raspberry Twizzlers.ordered some fuel fragrances.... maybe it can overcome bad smelling oils.
I ain't throwing away any R50, I ain't buying anymore either. I've mixxed the last of the 2 gallons that I bought, probably use up what's mixxed on Tuesday, then I'll be running some KL200Why not just buy a different oil instead of mixing it with another?

I'll send you some. I know how time consuming testing that stuff can be. I've spent all day testing one chain.Oil test update -
I am going to have Tree Monkey mill me up some 8'8" x 10" x 12" oak hardwood cants for the oil test. Figure 9 of them will create a 36" across and 30" down. Figuring that is going to be the best way to keep the wood consistent etc. Given I have 12-14 oils x 3-4 ratios per oil. That is approx 50 x 2 cuts. So figuring I'll need to setup two of these. He wants $600. Anyone want to help out on the cost?
I am working on a thermocouple for the temps inside the cylinder temps and maybe exhaust temps. Also going to try and rig up something to watch the RPMs
I've made up (50) new 36" .404 .063 104dl Stihl chains

that is over 50 tests. I am guessing some will be eliminated because heat and time will fall off making a higher ratio a waste of time to test.
I figure it will may take 2 full days to do them all.
other costs - approx 50 empty water jugs @ .88 per
approx 50 x .5 gal = 25 gal of gas
other odds and ends I'm not sure yet on with the thermocouple or tach setup.
Testing will be done at tree monkey's mill. There isn't enough time to drive somewhere else and I'll be hauling 50 jugs of gas and he's only an hour away. If I need anything his shop is right there. Anyone is welcome to come to this thing...I just don't know when exactly yet. I figure the hotter the better...so I'm not in a hurry...yet. There are some loose ends here and there to still figure out as well.
Me tooI'll send you some. I know how time consuming testing that stuff can be. I've spent all day testing one chain.
