Just because an oil is blended in the same factory as another doesn't mean it's the same oil. The base oil might be the same, but the additive package has proprietary ingredients.

Pepsi and mountain dew are made by pepsico, but aren't the same soft drink.

Several years ago I spoke to Chip at Spectrum Corp. He would not absolutely admit it but hinted that Their Alco No Smoke 2 Stroke syn and Bailey's Woodlandpro syn were the same formulation. They both look and smell the same prior to mixing and the burned exhaust smells the same.

"Just because an oil is blended in the same factory..."

Kinda what I was thinking. Regardless, it was considerably less expensive than Ultra. WTF, I'll give it a whirl.... Eventually....

Motul 700 states for injection systems also. Usually means its thinner
710 is about the same viscosity as 2R. I know Mike has tried both. I haven't tried my 710 yet. I might try an 800/710 blend like Mopar does. I think Mopar tried an 800/R50 blend.

710 and 2R have very similar specs as a typical "chainsaw" oil like ultra.

Why blend it? Why not just use one or the other?
I agree but I also like experimenting. Maybe a "blend" would be a better fit for someone that uses a ported saw, not stock, that may require more protection. All the chainsaw oils I've seen have a viscosity range, at 100C, from 7 - 9 cSt's. Dirt bike racing oils range from 12 - 20+ cSt's. The exception is 2R which is 8-9 best I remember. The higher viscosity oils may be more beneficial for extreme uses like milling. Hopefully Redbull can solve all of our questions. If so, I think Redbull needs a tip jar so we can contribute.
