One of the best looking woods, both before and after finishing. Such a beautiful grain contrast.Just a bit more cedar today.

Yup, I really enjoy cutting it.... just wish they grew bigger, like real trees instead of bushes. One of the best looking woods, both before and after finishing. Such a beautiful grain contrast.
Wheel bearing maybe?Making oak 1 x 10s today....
Still getting bad/rough cuts, I replaced the guides and checked / adjusted the alignment.......but no noticable improvement.

That's my next thing to check.Wheel bearing maybe?
Don't you guys use a metal detector. Pick up an old minelab or whites. Pays for itself in a couple blades. The third cut with a brand new blade.
Was a nice chunk of wood too.
Zero stain on the ends of the log to warn me of the impending disaster.... and nothing showing in the bark either.

Spacing looks like woven wire fence. The third cut with a brand new blade.

Those are pretty nice....what are the dimensions?I finally had a chance to open up a big elm with the weekend warrior mill today.
My pics never seem to do justice to just how dramatic a freshly sawn slab can be.

Nice, definitely heavy!9 feet long, 3" thick, must be over 34" at the flare since I had to trim it to get by. I would have cut them at 4" but I'm solo and they get heavy quick even just getting them onto the forks.
I'm going to strap them and sticker them at 12" or so to see if I can minimize movement while drying.
They should make mighty nice furniture tops in a couple years (unless I get a kiln built).
Did you check your drive belt tension? I have an LT40. If the belt is loose and slipping it can cause blade chatter.Making oak 1 x 10s today....
