That's got to be bad.. Got any pictures!!
I use the bush hog to mulch small brush piles. I forgot about my 359 and accidentally mulched it too. Not much left.
I later learned from MM that the 359 cylinder playing was crap, and then I felt much better.

Ironically killing the 359 led me to need a new saw, which led to CAD, and a bevy of 5 cube ported Swedish magnesium

Only a doctor or dentist could afford to forget their chainsaw and mow it. To put the income inequality into perspective, I pulled a pair of Levis off the clothesline with the bushog and thrashed them. They already had the bag blown out of them anyway but it was my only pair of pants. So I had to ride my bicycle to town in my undies and borrow some overalls from my Grandpa.

Plastics and parts surrounding the cylinder/case are IMO a saws weak point. Saws used commercially fed on a diet of fresh fuel will only last as long as those surrounding parts. All replaceable I know, but often especially in commercial it makes more sense after Xthousand hours to replace new than tip money into a flogged worn horse. Quality pro saws these days are designed to run 2000hrs, when they get there (if they get there) it is far more cost effective to replace new for many reasons.

I cant say i totally agree friend , i know people with a good bit of common sense they just have no experience with chainsaws..its kind of a niche tool , it requires more effort on the user end to operate to its potential and also more attention than most hand tools to be at its best.

Some of the guys i work with have 25 years behind a saw and have no clue whats what as far as maintenance and performance goes..these forums are a small percentage of users.

You don't have to agree, but i've worked in the rental biz and small engine shops
back in the day for about 9 years worth and let me tell you that i've seen some saws
come through those doors that were destroyed buy folks that had no biz running them.

My vote goes for old/bad gas causing non running conditions. Usually this doesnt "kill" the saw but makes it not run. I bet straight gas KILLS the most saws.
Or old/bad gas causing carb parts to stiffen, causing the saw to run lean, and the unknowing keep on running it, resulting in lean seize

Around here the home owner guys is always bad gas, or fell off the truck because they want to show the saw off driving down the road with their day of wood cutting.

Oh i believe what you saw..i dont question that..i see saws about 8-9 months out of the year that kinda make me wonder how they survive.

Common sense is what i was talking about.

The saws that have been neglected are the ones you can get the best deal on.

I enjoy the whole income inequality thing, but it couldn't protect me from stupidity:(

I think the Worst saw owners are the ones who run them until they can't run no more....then bring the saw in and say..."It needs a spark plug." I'm like....Dude....don't tell ME what it needs....obviously you don't know what it NEEDS right now. lol Some of the saws come in in such bad condition it's sick, but....I have no problem taking their money. :D
