I just bought a bunch of used saws off a tree service.

I've been in three so far that were killed by heat brought on by neglect. Never blown off/out with a compressor .... very dull chain ... run waay too hard for waay too long.

A very dumb arse and ignorant operator. Someone who
has no biz running a chainsaw because he or she have
very little to no common sense.

I cant say i totally agree friend , i know people with a good bit of common sense they just have no experience with chainsaws..its kind of a niche tool , it requires more effort on the user end to operate to its potential and also more attention than most hand tools to be at its best.

Some of the guys i work with have 25 years behind a saw and have no clue whats what as far as maintenance and performance goes..these forums are a small percentage of users.

At least here in IL where we are force fed E10+ gas almost everywhere It is fuel here
I have had mix gas cans that were varnish smelling come off our maintenance trucks. When I poured the can out the bottom inch was white like skim milk
And they wonder why the weedeater won't run....

Saws that are used in the woods here for felling end up smashed before they get worn out.
Same here,I've seen very few that's worn much at all.

I do more repair work than anything and probably replace broke chain break handle, handle bar and fuel tanks more than anything else. It's quite rare that one is blown up,the skidder gets them long before there bad gas wil.

If we are talking about killing top ends,
many broken fuel lines and boots, many H jets cranked all the way in.
I buy saws all the time and 99 percent '' just need the carb cleaned" but actually have fried pistons.

Fixed. BTW, me too.
For me personally, it's the hog roast.

It's always nice to find the cause of death while you are breaking the saw down
