These little clones hit the shelves today, beating Neotec to the punch. We have some in stock plus they are on fleabay and probably the Zon. $160 including shipping. I tried one out a couple weeks ago and it does pretty darn good. It's not a screamer but has plenty of torque. I'll have one on the way to @huskihl in a couple days. Here's my first look. I have some shots from the woods on my channel too.

Is this saw still kicking?
What's the better chain option to get it with?

So far, so good. They recently released a version with a 1/4" bar and chain right from the factory but the bar is way too thick to work with the chain. I still need to gather up some more details and a video of the issue for them so they can see the problem and fix it. For now I'd have to recommend staying with the 3/8LP setup unless you want to get an Archer bar right from the get-go. A modified Stihl 1/4" bar is still the best option for running the micro chain on these saws.
I haven't tried the Oregon .325 x .043 kit yet but I hear it's a fantastic option.

I have been wanting the echo 2511 but so many other high cost things I need or could use I done with out it. Think I will pull the trigger on 1 of these soon.

Is that an optical illusion or are the gas and oil caps different sizes? The real Mccoys have the same size caps. Also I enjoy their resurrection of the now defunct Double Guard label.

Yep the caps are different sizes. Say goodbye to accidently mixing them up and causing irreversible nothingness!

The knockoff makers are so careful to clone everything in exacting detail, but give their products names that are just random words. Or even just combinations of letters that aren't actual words.

The V-Modest and KNK that I sell are not only different from each other, they are vastly different from the Echo. The clutches look to be the only thing that is the same and I'm sure that's because they are a purchased part rather than an in-house made part.

So…what’s the deal with these things? Worth it or just buy the Echo, they are $489 at my local ACE hardware.

I got the v-modest one. It seems worth the $150. I put the .043 bar on it.

It vibrates a little more than the 2511 and is louder.

Just got mine today and cut a bit with it, seems worth the money so far. The 3/8 LP is a little grabby on small stuff but I am impressed with it so far. It feels cheap but cuts well. Worst case its a good little saw for the wife to cut and prune in the orchard.

I have had one for a few months now. I bought it with the 1/4" chain and bar. That combo was a bad choice. It cut crooked right out of the box. I ran up to my local hardware store and got a stihl 1/4" picco chain for it. It cut straight but still not right. Turns out the dang bar is too thick. I ran back up to the store and grabbed the stihl bar. Had to drill holes for the adjuster. Now it runs and cuts great. So i paid the premium for the upgrade bar and chain and then spent another $60 making it right. If I had to do it again, knowing what I now know, I'd just get the 3/8 lp.

Mine came with the 3/8lp and it cuts good, haven’t really buried it but I do not see a need too. I will just grab the 346xp if its too big.
