Two stroke theory is pretty simple:

Money goes in the back, death and stink come out the front, and in between, magic makes the chain go round and round. If the chain stops going, more money needs to go in.

Edit: please note that this is slightly simplified.

Listen, maybe I offended you, but there's no reason to act like this in a forum that discusses chainsaws, of all things.

I was exposed to a lot of hazardous elements in the air during my time in. I am keenly aware of that kind of stuff now that I have a family and want to be here for as long as I can as healthy as I can. I know an electric chainsaw would never cut it (no pun intended hehe) in the environment I operate a saw in. I am often up close and in tight with the saw and breathing heavily because its hard work.

The strato-saw changes the game in that respect. It reduces the scavenging factor as I understand 2-stroke theory and instead makes it a more efficient and cleaner burning solution that reduces fuel consumption on top of it.

I have respect for all those who run equipment and the hazards they placed themselves in to do it. I am thankful at this stage is what I am saying. While I will run a conventional 2-stroke, it's not my preference and in fact, turns me off from basically 99% of echo's line up because they don't offer it.
Offend me? How? jeesus man. I'm pointing out the fact that joining a community then instantly butting heads with long standing members, and trying to stir the pot, then going running crying to mods when you do, wont get you far in any community of people, anywhere. Same things others have tried to tell you in this thread. They are trying to help you not hurt you. Also, take a damn joke.

I love ported echos. Youre missing out on great saws because youre being a wuss, but thats your own decision to make. hahaha

Electronics has magic in it too. It sucks when letting out the magic purple smoke, most times you can't repack it back in.

Hopefully when a chainsaw runs out of magic, it just needs more fuel, however if the smoke was piston and cylinder colored...not good :(

Welcome to the forum and thanks for yer service to this country. Dunno if you've heard, but the VA are trying to take these exposures more seriously. If you do a screening with vet-home, depending on the severity of yer exposures, they'll refer opportunities to a respiratory specialist directly to yer VA primary care provider. With my level of exposure, in my 3 1-year tours in the Iraq war, VA gotta check my lungs every year.

Pulled a guy out of a chemical fire at the burn pit on LSA Annaconda. Dunno what was burning, but was volatile enough to react with the air. Couldn't stand to watch a man burn while cowards stood around.

Strato ports are the least of yer worries.

Anyhow, hope yer able to enroll in the vet-home screening:

Spend some time in a workplace where things are settled with fist fights and not HR. It would be good for you. The internet has been dominated by trolling since I built my first computer in 1998. Get with the times, man! Nothing new here 😂

4 hours with a saw a week is great. But if you are concerned about emissions just remember there are many folks here that have been breathing it in for 12 hours a day 6 days a week for 25 years+. At your rate it will take you 468 years to gain that experience/number of hours. I did the math. Looks like you'll survive the fumes :D

In my 27 years as a working adult I've never had a Job that had an HR department. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.

If you acted like a B!tch you just got made fun of even more, the old guys I've worked with that broke me in to real life were BRUTAL.
