Roller trailers can mess a guy up coming from bunks, watch a guy drop his brand new fiberglass boat on a tar parking lot because he unhooked the winch and chain before backing down the ramp. I was just a kid and dad and I helped him get it back on. Some people are just completely stupid and others have small bursts of it. While I had seen this as a kid I still partially did the same thing. My brand new Lund I bought had a roller trailer and I was so used to this shallow hilled dirt ramp and unhooking boat then backing the bunk trailer in that I without thinking did the same with my new one. Well started backing in with wife holding rope and boat started to roll off. She couldn’t stop it but I heard her and saw what was going on and was able to keep the trailer under it and she slowed it down enough the very back edge came to rest in dirt scuffing the paint but no real damage. Winched back on trailer and have learned from that moment I need to remember the roller trailer doesn’t allow the same way of launching your boat.
