A friend in KS has one, and though I haven't used it a lot, I was struck by it's performance and agility. It was ported by Brad and other's recipes may provide different outcomes, but it's an impressive little saw by any definition. I intnd to get my hands on it this fall when I do some cutting to give it a more thorough evaluation.

Cannon Supermini 16" C1 mount with PS chain 62dl and a custom Dansco sprocket from Definitive Dave and dont let anyone tell u that the Picco sprocket doesnt run smoother than a regular 3/8. 32$ for that sprocket and worth it

But its too heavy for its size[emoji1]

Less weight (but no real world difference) and 1/2 the price seems like a winner to me.
Couldnt give my opinion on the 421 as I havent ran one but the 241 is awesome to say the least except for the price. Everyone says the 421 feels like a chunk though? Unbalanced?

I guess it's just personal preference. I like mine, but I didn't like my buddies MS362 at all. I'd still enjoy cutting with it and wouldn't turn it down if he offered it to me. It's just not for me. He loves it though and hates the feeling of all my Dolmars.

Throw a Sugi on a 421 and it feels really light and balanced (just my opinion though)..

The 241 with a 16" bar and PS chain handled and cut like a dream. Guess I need to run a 421 to see what the rave is about

Wow. The Dolmar carries 30% more fluids too. Is Dolmar conservative with their weight specs or is Stihl fibbing?

I haven't run the 421, only the 241. Holding the 421, it felt pretty nice, but it looked like a bigger saw than than the 241 does width-wise. I think that optical illusion might throw some people off, looks being deceiving and all. A family that deals in Dolmar and Grasshopper, near me, does firewood on the side (and between their 30' GN trailer and small 20K lb crane are well equipped for Hedge). The father, who's in his 70's runs a 421 almost exclusively, going up to a 5100 or 5105 when needed. The son, in his 40's runs the 5100/5 and a 6100 or 7900 when needed and they do quite well for themselves. They'll go out on various farmer's land and buck the trees into sections manageable with their crane, then load them onto their trailer. They finish bucking, splitting and piling the wood at the saw shop. The old man will spend entire days running tht 421 bucking up all sizes of Hedge, Oak, Ash and otherwise simply because it's lighter, he likes the a/v and it's pretty good on fuel. I'm pretty happy with the lineup of saws I have, but for him and his circumstances, I can definitely see the logic there. They probably do 80-150 cord/yr.
