Never tried a 242xp but I'm toying with the idea of a 241c at some point

Already got a 346 and 261c but they're different, each better suited to different jobs

That was a left over job I had for probably a year or more. I'm finally feeling good enough to get some things done!
Glad your feeling better.

To add to the thread I've had a few stock 241's and they are great saws, the only reason I sold them was to get a ported one/because I bought a ported one, and it's great runner as well.
As many of you wonder about the 241/421 comparison I have a 4300 as well and I run it a lot, both are fun saws. I've put at least 10 tanks thru the 4300 in the last week as the 241 has just sat, I have a lot easier time thrashing on a cheaper saw and keeping the nicer ones perty longer.

Mate that would be wonderful. Im in the yarra valley but have family up there so i can find an excuse for sure! Have you left yours standard or done some work to them

If you run 91 octane at 40:1 its fine.
98 octane caused it and the 661 to run hot and rough.
I use my 241 every work day,and the other saws stay in the truck unless i hit something big.
Run the PS chain and a 8 tooth rim sprocket (56 drive links needed, not 55)
i have two,and a third on the way. heard a rumor they were being discontinued,so bought another.
I'm near Castlemaine victoria if you want to try one out

My mildly ported ms241 with a stock muffler only opened up the outlet under the factory deflector and added a wide weave screen. She rips pretty good without being obnoxiously loud. Still on the first tank from new.
16" .325 semi chisel
