It mite not be perfect, but I have seen worse. Great job! I'm working on a 440 that must have had a tree dropped on it. The oil tank and cylinder were smashed. I was able to get a new oil tank and cylinder for it. Now I just need to get some 2k paint on it.It is not pretty, but it does seem to run well.

Looks great Mark! Great job. I love when someone takes a rough saw and brings it back to life.I cleaned up the bar from the SP125 and put it on the 797, looks a little more like it.

That's a good one. So don't we all!Several members here (myself included) have a lot of patina.
I just got done milling 24 boards with my old 10-10. The 10-10 is one of the strongest, if not the fastest cutting 54cc saws ever made. These old saws mite be heavier than to days saws, but they keep you in shape! At the end of the day, what would you rather do run a beautiful, powerfull saw or go to the gym?
At some point I have to get some pictures of my saws posted here. I only buy saws that are mint and I have a few really nice macs. I was running a homelite sxl today and when I fired up that old 10-10 I remembered why mcculloch saws are my favorites.I'd rather relax! Lol!
A RHS 10-10 is indeed a powerhouse and is lighter than a comparable modern saw of the same displacement. Also sounds so much better.
That's a real nice furniture cherry! Beautiful wood, but a pain in the hind to split! Nice looking mp 800 to. A little trick I found when bucking a big ash tree a cupple of years ago is to pound a falling wedge into your cut when you are 3/4 through the cut. I never cut from the bottem any more. I did this on a 30 inch tree that was held up one end, and I never got the saw stuck. Here's a pic. mac 800 vs black cherry. got it pinched so a chance to take a pic while I looked for the hammer.

Show us a pic of the little red barn piston! The old ones I don’t think would even run!, It looks like they have an updated piston that might have some chance of runningThe iron bore SP125 cleaned up, somewhat...the gouges are still pretty deep.

This saw is pretty rough anyway (see post 10,464 above) so instead of investing in having it bored oversize, I am going to install an LRB piston and see if it will run. Ultimately it will end up in the display so it doesn't need to be real strong.
Getting things cleaned up and layed out in preparation.
