Yes most of the time Stihl has provided the sizes but not always unless I've over looked them .Mac just provides a parts number ,which if they are seals are easy to cross with CR seals .I've never needed to replace bearings on a Mac so far so I don't know how that would work out .Fact I'm not so certain you could wear out a set of Mac bearings unless you got stingy with the oil in the mix .

Alex - Measure the piston diameter and note the bore and piston for plating. My notes are conflicting but indicate some are 1.375" bore and others are 1.435" bore. Some are plain bore with a chrome plated piston, others are chrome plated bore and plain piston. You need to know what you have in order to determine the correct parts to use.

So roughly 1 7/16? If so, you have the 1.435" bore and by the looks of it, an aluminum piston w/a chrome bore.

I have the specs on Mac lettered cylinders and am certain Mark and others do also .Saying that I have the bones of an 850 the cylinder can be saved but not the piston which is "A " size which seems to be difficult to find .Weather a smaller sized in the specs of a "B" piston would work on the larger of the "A" marked cylinders would work or not I can't say . However doing this stuff for a few years I know eventually a donor will pop up some time .

The one I referenced was the one and only saw I hung with straight gas and that was from a prime .That was very sad day because I worked my butt off restoring that 805 Mac .Entirely my fault I must admit .I haven't really been on the look out for another piston .Too many other irons in the fire .--more--

In a way it was kind of comical .I was making the back cut on a dead sugar maple and it died half way through the back cut .I just got out another saw, probably a Stihl and finished it .My aim was right on as it usually is but my estimation of how high it was was flawed .About the top 5 feet of it hit a hanging wren house in another tree that had a wren it it .Talk about a little bird hauling azz .I think that little bird for a short distance could out fly a falcon .

What is a LRB piston ?

Some would say a less than desirable solution.., particularly when it comes to wrist pin and bearing tolerances. There are more than a few stories of failures in those areas and the guy keeps on selling them anyway. I wouldn't buy a spark plug from LRB for that reason alone.

I did see some of the LRB stuff on flea bay and had thought it a little misleading . On that in my opinion is nobody makes after market pistons for Macs, Homelite etc is because they are obsolete which of course Stihl and Husqvarna are not .If there was any money it it somebody would .So you either find NOS or good used .Then again as I've always said about restorations if it were easy anybody could do it .My dad RIP would say it separates the men from the boys .His favorite subject was old Jeeps .

I have a bunch of Homelites but certainly not all of them. I've never seen one with bolts down through the top like that.

There's a couple of Homelite mufflers that are pretty close to an SP muffler - One I think is the 1020XP muffler. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing, since
the SP muffler is just an open box. I have seen some interesting home-built replacements over the years. In fact, I have a homemade muffler in my stuff somewhere.

I've got a 10-10 that clangs like a dinner triangle on the clutch drum when I try to start it.It has the clutch with the crooked downward pointing pawls.I noticed that when I pulled the clutch it had 2 of the thin washers under the clutch.I don't know if this was an oversight by the previous owner,or if it was done purposely.I have to get this sorted before I address the carb.

Your clutch is missing the spring guides that go in-between the springs.
