A couple more. The PM6 shop manual is clearly for the predecessor, but does contain relevant info regarding methods, procedures, and certain components. Fairly large files.

Thanks, Tim. Turns out I actually have that one as well. I'm still in the never-ending process of organizing a very unorganized batch of McCulloch documentation that I acquired some time ago. Can't wait to get to the Service Bulletins. LOL

My original hodge-podge came from Joey Taylor some years ago. May have been a combo effort among Mac guys back then and/or pieces/parts of McBob's effort -- or a combination. Sure is a boatload of great stuff once you begin finding your way around everything.

If you guys need to digitize microfiche in full high resolution take the fiche to the main library with a blank usb drive
When i did all the old Stihl fiche it was 20 cents per page.

is this the right forum for this pic?

I tried that and for some reason it didn't work .I think I've got most of it on the McBob CD .My fiche is pretty blurry on the real old gear drives .Of course those early pics were not as good as later models .The Stihl fiche set is really crisp and clear but I've got it on CD also .

I'd take it back. There's a flaw in the starter grip insert.

Thanks for the service manuals. Getting closer,

One item I'm looking for is how to test solid state ignition coils. The 160s is not getting spark at all, (yes I tried a couple of new plugs). I checked for insulation rubs and no noticeable ones found.

The 130 needs a repair of teh on off toggle switch or a replacement, as the tab is broken off the back.

On another note, Picked up another. Darn addiction.... This one had a rotted fuel line inside the tank, and the filter was detached. I bet it would not have got fuel unless tank was nearly full. Replaced the fuel line with some new 1/8" x 1/4" and started right up. Very clean saw, the air filter foam was not even dirty yet.

Call me a sick man, today I decided to work on a couple of Mini Mac 6 saws. For those that don't know, the Mini Mac 6 was the first in the series and does not have the removeable starter so getting them apart and back together can be a problem. The first one was really old and does not have the notch or slot in the housing for the fuel line fitting as these older saws had a different end to plug in to the fuel tank.

Since I had to replace the fuel line and I didn't have one of the originals I had to use the later version with the tab, but rotate the tab up rather than down and rely on the fuel line fitting snug in the housing to hold it as the saw was reassembled. There was also a problem with the spark plug wire (insulation broken off at the coil) so I had to remove the wire and install a new one. To make this a bit easier, I bought some hollow, left hand bits designed to be used as screw extractors that work very well to get the remnants of the plug wire out of the socket.

Getting everything aligned and back together took a while but I finally got it, except the oil line did not hit the socket...in the end we had one down and one to go. The second one came apart easily and had the notch for the more modern fuel line fitting in the housing which is a good thing as the fuel line on this one has shrunk and no longer seals in the tank. I have it all cleaned up and will try to get it back together tomorrow evening or Wednesday.

I have an MM6 sitting under the bench waiting. I still have a few fuel related issues to work out on the PM6A before I go there. I also have a Mac 130 that looks pristine I want to get going before I tackle the MM6. I have A LOT of projects ahead of THAT one.
On a positive note, I took the 1010A out of storage to steal the correct recoil housing back for my 1010S. The 1010A may just need some points cleaning and possibly some high voltage tape on the spark plug wire to be a runner. Its All there except the B&C. Has 140 PSI compression. Beat up a bit, but might be good enough to add to the lineup.0720202011a.jpg 0720202011.jpg

Seems I have a lot of mini macs. I have a MM25, which was the first one I bought online after I got the yellow fever. Also got a 35, some 110s, and a 130. Grew up running a 1010S that my grandfather bought to replace a D30. Had the D30, but sadly lost it in a move. I love the 10 series stuff. Just really well built and lasts forever. Those are from the time that we learned how to make things that last forever, and shortly before some people realized that was bad for business.

I must be getting worse instead of better...I tackled the other MM6 today. Now I have two running Mini Mac 6 model saws with cases...guess I will just put them up on a shelf in the new shop and hope someone comes along that is as afflicted as I am.

Then I attacked this PM510. Tore it down, cleaned it up, rebuilt the carburetor totally, and managed to get it back together and running just like a new one. I already have an SP40 in the display, now I guess I will have to find a PM515 to complete the set.
