.Yup! Thats me in the blue!
That guy in blue is good feller. Takes a beating in questions from me, but I try to be a good parts supply in return.

You can make a 70 cc Mac run but my goodness it's so much easier with a Stihl or Husky .I guess the challenge accounts for something .If it wasn't fun I wouldn't do it .
Already have couple coming lol. Thanks for the heads up!
So I bought this thing..... not 100% sure what I have but I'm thinking it's a 6-10. No auto oiler, first 10 series I've seen without, SDC carb, pro mac style tank, and it is definitely 70cc, pulled the muffler to verify. Good news though, it runs!!! Will need some minor stuff. The seller wont go less than $80 plus the $28 shipping I'm not sure it's worth it. Especially for a non runner that may turn out to just be another 54cc saw.

Sorry, my wording was poor. It is an SDC. I meant it is the the first 10 series I've seen without an auto oiler.Should be an SDC. Early ones had a McC logo on the fuel pump cover. Otherwise it would be a tillotson HS. But those did not come untill the LHS 7-10.

I'm assuming I need a 3 bolt aluminum body pump?
I drilled the 7-10 for the other two screws. So far, all of the RH start saws I've had here where 3 bolt.Cool beans.
Certainly preferable if the tank is threaded for it. I was surprised your 7-10 was. My SP81 isn't and has the spring clip instead.
Heck, I think it looks pretty good for 50+ years old lol. I'm not even 40 yet and way more warn than that saw, I dont run nearly as good either lol.Looks worn on the outside, but at least it runs.
Well the fuel tank gasket swelled up sitting over night and is sealing so I grabbed a 20 inch bar off the wall and spun a loop of chain for it and took it out and sunk it in 24" oak log. A couple twists of the screws and it singing like a Mac should. I think I did ok for $100.
I would like to swap in an automatic oil pump especially if I plan to use it regular. I'm assuming I need a 3 bolt aluminum body pump?

All seriousness though, modern saws use a lot of died plastics that hold there color through use and abuse. These old saws where all painted metal and the paint was just industrial enamel and not known for its durability. Make no mistake about it, I have some seriously ugly Macs that will run right alongside any modern saw.Maybe I’m just not used to how old saws look worn out. I’m used to clean, shiny modern saws lol.

I know there is a "don't judge a book by its cover" lesson about to happen here! Stay tuned. [/QUOTE
I have one ol lh start 10-10 that have stole parts from several times for other 10 series. Poor engine has had all kinds of different covers on it. One of strongest engines I have though. Doesn’t care what it’s cover looks like.
