I spy a top handle that would be nice for my 1-10, provided it would fit.
Guess I really should check it to see if the P&C are any good before I get too excited though. Might just be a "parts saw".1231191534a.jpg 1231191534.jpg

Yep, if I stumbled across a 3-10E id definitely want to make it run. Heard the battery pack can be replaced with the new lithium ion C type cells.

This one is missing all the hard to find parts. The battery tray and the switch/rectifier. Has the starter generator and under cover wiring intact.

Somehow I knew you were gonna say that Steve.:(
Youre as bad as a dope dealer. You know I'm addicted. :p
Let me see what it needs. I know it needs all of the RHS parts, and I think a clutch as well. Also flywheel cover screws. Dang it, now I'm needing a parts saw, and then I'll try to save that one too. o_O:confused:

When you are up to your hip pockets in saws you'll get over that noble thought .It comes down to the point some have to be sacrificed so others can live .

Got a few small Homies. Nothing bigger than a Super EZ. Scratch that. Dad has that, so make that an EZ.

Super XL 925, C71, Super XL auto, early Super XL manual oiler, 3 super 2's, an XL.
Most are runners, 2 of the super 2's (later models) need work, and the XL needs carb work. The rest run and cut as they should.
Pics and video available upon request.

Not planing on it .I'd have to take inventory to even see what I have first .I've got at least a half dozen to work on and some I may never turn a wrench on that showed up like stray cats . As a matter of fact I have some real stray cats also as well as some raccoons and a fox or two that like to dine on scraps I put out every two or three days .Those are amusing the saws some times are a pain in the a----

I decided to go out and cut some with the 4-10. I made 2 cuts and realized I forgot my tuning screw driver in the garage. Walked back to the garage with the saw running in my hand, grabbed the screwdriver and headed back to the log pile. The saw died on the way to the log pile and i couldn't get it to restart. Back at the garage, spark would jump a spark plug but not my spark tester unless I spun the motor quite fast with my drill. I figured the chip died (have heard all the warnings) but wanted to try it anyway. So I cleaned up the original points and put them back I and gapped them. Had great spark. Put it back together and it fired right up. Great!! Had to go in for dinner, came out after dinner, saw fired but would die when I tried to rev it. Checked spark again and it is inconsistent unless I spin the motor fast with a drill. What am I missing here? Is this a coil issue? I've always had coils either fail or not.
Also, is this fuel cap repairable?

Had a few bad condensers do that.

I have a cp55 here that is doing the same thing. I have replaced everything but the coil at this point. Just fed up with it. Never seen a bad mac points coil. But untill i replace it to confirm it, you and i may have the first two!

Best way to fix that cap is to throw another in the box coming to you. ;)

Ya coil, it’s going bad when hot, if the chip and points both have the same problem it’s the coil! I have one saw that has both points and chip, I can switch back and forth to test coils
