This may be against the rules and frowned upon as a redneck rig but I just use a 6mm 6 point deep well socket and tap it onto the head of the bolt with a small hammer. It's a snug fit. I'm careful not to apply too much force when breaking them loose. I use plenty of PB Blaster and tap on the head with the same hammer to vibrate things loose and help the PB get down into the threads. Torquing them back down to specs with the 6mm is a cinch as long as you haven't monkeyed up the heads of the bolts.Any chance you have the McCulloch socket for the kart rod bolts? Or an extra bolt?
I'll have to check on the extra bolts as I have an unusable rod and have bought a couple spare rods but can't remember which bolts came in them.
