Tim I had a CP with the same problem. When I got it, It just would
not want to run so I shelfed it. A few years later I came across it and
found the plug missing. That saw got a total resto.

I guess it was more common than I thought. Was it the same plug closest to the muffler?

Is a sealer used on top of those plugs after they go in? I think I've seen some with some orange / red stuff on them before.

I wonder if they had problems and switched Sealant, my CP cylinder has original paint, and has more of a gray sealant, and my other cylinders that I have no paint a red seal sealant, my CP cylinder has original paint, and has more of a gray sealant, and my other cylinders that have no paint and red sealant, along with 101 cylinders. I wonder if heat was a problem with the sealant on the exhaust side Welch plug.

Sure could be. I'll bet there was a bulletin on that. I heard MAC was big on issuing those but I don't have access to that stuff.

Those plugs are a welch type plug. When installed they just fit in the hole. Then you flatten
them with a suitable flat punch near the same size so they expand and grab the hole they are in.
The sealer is kinda an insurance in case they didn't seal just right.

I found today after my 125 sat for a few months that I'm getting bar oil in my crankcase. What would be my first course of action?

I would pull the oil tank and stuffer, check for corrosion on the stuffer or bad gaskets

The automatic oil pump operated off a crankcase impulse signal. Very possible there is a gasket leaking a little.

I agree, but the auto Oiler gasket shouldn’t be a problem unless it’s running, a cold start oil leak is stuffer? Right? Unless it is filled to the max and leaks through the port
