My little incubator orphan left us today sometime in the PM.
I am now down to 2 females.
She is the third I lost this year, all three females.
R.I.P. little one, I am already missing You!
She was the one entering my shop begging for bread crumbs and being under my feet when I'd process firewood eating all the grubs. 😢

What killed her?

The storm sirens across the river in Iowa are going off.
My phone is going nuts with all the NOAA alerts.
The dog is more nut-so than usual.
Radar shows 80mph straight line winds coming in.

I think I will go check pastures............

Be careful Bill.
I am more concerned about the fine folks just across the river in Iowa. It is amazing how that small distance of open muddy water disrupts the storms. I have been very lucky, ....very lucky over the years. The folks over there have got nailed and they are getting it now.

How old was the girl?
Under a year!

Can ducks get egg-bound like chickens do? I lost a hen last year from that
These Indian Runner Ducks can , due to their small body size and extremely high egg production.
I did not dissect her, it wouldn't have brought her back to life. :(

That looks like over kill to me ....waaaay too much horsepower. :)
The mule is a Deere 7630. Sprayer is a Hardi Navigator 3500 with a 1,000gal tank. I wouldn’t want too much smaller of a tractor on it. Plus this one has all the fancy GPS goodies so it makes the most sense. And it has a spray ready cab so it never smells like chem inside which is great in many ways.

I guess it was just the angle of the pic but it looked like you were pulling it with a 4 wheel drive. There is a guy here that plants with a 8630

Is all of Georgia dry? I have been waiting on a guy in south central Georgia for some saws and he never seems to follow through. It has been months. Maybe he dried up and blew away
May have. Some parts may have gotten a shower or two, but not us. Too hot to work outside past about noon unless it’s windy.
