The stub guards oscillate against the knives to give you double the strokes per minute without actually doubling the the shaft speed. It's pretty cool.

Two cutter bars moving in opposite directions that make the cut, rock guards only protect the cutters.

We have been getting just enough to keep things from browning. Got some the other day just because I cut hay. Still time for another cutting, if we get some rain first.

Started raining in the night and continued into the morning. More than I have had in the last two months. Had less than an inch when I left for work this morning. Surprised to see that much in the gauge when I got home.

Have a small light bar across the back to light up the corral when I am loading. Got 4 going to butcher in two weeks and I will be loading at 5AM. Just hooked things up enough tonight to see how they look.

But a colder wind coming off the Atlantic
