We had a .25” last night, some had around .01”.
Big swing & miss for the weather guessers. Just enough to add a day or two more drying time before we can start planting again. I saw some folks trying yesterday but were balling up their planters & the fella running my brothers air seeder on beans said he had to plant some going downhill because he couldn’t pull it uphill. I believe he got about 25 acres in before he called it quits.

I haven’t gotten a bean in the ground. I’d like to start any day. Rain Thursday. Grounds just about fit to go on again. Figured I’d get hay up maybe before the rain and see what the weather does. Hope to go hard and get them in the ground as quickly as I can. Got a little wheat to cut.

Interesting fact I learned recently...

Corn does not exist naturally in Nature.
It is a totally man made plant.

I never knew that till recently.

Where did it come from
The Indians had it before the white man got here [emoji848]

Thank you sirs, I googled Yucca plant blooms & you are correct.
They are pretty but spread like weeds...
I was thinking about getting rid of them but think I'll keep em.
Many thanks for the ID.

Corn was derived from a grass called teosinte.

Pretty much nothing we eat exists in nature in the same form that we produce it. Maybe seafood I guess. Everything from apples to zucchini started as something wild and over hundreds of generations became what we eat today as the plants (or animals) were selected to best meet our needs.

They may have been modified at some point, but Apples arent man made along with a plethora of other fruits & vegetables that we are familiar with.

Sure, they have been modified but were always available in nature (wild in nature).
Corn does not meet that criteria.
