I had two showing signs of pinkeye. Shot em with a dart full of micotil.
I have some calves from last year that got pinkeye at my place. Decided to keep them and fatten them up for future processing slots. Figured when they are hanging in the cooler you can't tell they had pinkeye.

I've got several cows with one foggy eye. They still make fine calves.

My brother & Dad finished up planting yesterday. I finished beans for my buddy’s neighbor last night. Chase has 30 acres of sod beans left but we have to get the hay off first.
I would imagine that weather permitting we will start on his hay this week, only 650 acres to knock out, my arse is getting sore just thinking about it.
Chase said he was going to buy a 16’ self propelled mo-co but I haven’t seen one yet…

There are several folks around here stubbing in replant corn & a few starting to replant some beans.

I work with an older gentleman who farms around 100 acres during the day, and comes in on second shift to turn wrenches with me at night. He has an international 6 row planter with this pto-driven hydraulic pump that operates a fan or something to distribute the seeds (I haven't seen the entire planter up close, yet).

Anyways, he comes to work already spent from planting all day, in a huff because he just ruined the pump. He finished planting one field and hit the road to come home with the tractor and planter, and as he pulled onto the road the pump fell off the pto shaft. The pump got dragged home by the hydraulic hoses, half a mile on asphalt in road gear.

He had enough time before work to remove the pump and bring it in... I haven't done any aluminum TIG work since high school, but I am proud of my terrible welds that helped him finish getting the corn in this year.

Alot of seat time, for certain. I am approaching 20 years working as a machinist and would love to do nearly anything else at this point. A week or two of rolling up hay? I'd work for free and consider it a vacation. Burnout is real

I've been porting saws for 13 years now. The reason I bought some land and got cattle was to keep from getting totally burned out on shop work.

I get it.
