1 1/4 in and still raining

Any better weather hosky? Ground was getting hard here. Just got some rain. Over an inch so far. Probably see another inch. Had some corn didn’t want to go in the ground quite as deep as I’d like. Hopefully this helps get it up in a fairly uniform fashion. I was maybe half way done.

Any tips on planting small 35 pound flats with vacuum. ? I do pretty good with almost everything else. Just can’t get those things to plant right. I ordered new meters but due to parts problems they never came in. Kinze edge vac is what I’m currently using.

Very few crops are in
Usually by this time 90% are in the ground, corn and beans
Heard on radio saying only 10-15% are planted [emoji2959]

I’ve built thousands of those aluminum fans before the 2015 layoff but haven’t been around a completed planter so can’t help ya on that , sorry

Hope you get out there soon hosky. Yeah the edge vac was a good setup but it had limitations. I can make it do what I want most of the time. Small flats well I just can’t seem to make it do what I want. If you looked in the meter you’d likely see what the problem is. Hard to put enough pressure to pick up the small flats without grabbing two here and there. Then to get the brushes inside set to just knock one off. Well not sure if it’s possible but I’ve tried multiple different setups. Might just leave it in the bag. Told the guy no small flats ….

Nice soil farminkarmin That’s prime veggie ground there. Do you lay plastic beds for them or do they plant in bare soil?
Some of them lay down weed barrier, but most just plant and then hoe the weeds as needed.
