Bale rings have gotten expensive I really need 2 of them and I do hate waste.... I may try something with an old combine tire... The problem I have is when there is just a little left in the middle of the ring an ol big ass gets pushing when the ground is froze. Total destruction

I would steer away from ag tires @jakethesnake They lack the thick rubber sidewalls. They flex too much and give in. Scraper tires haul truck tires work very well. We just put a plastic conduit type material over the edge to keep the steel cords covered and they seem to last as long as they are thick and heavy enough. Just my experience with them.

@Mastermind you trying to irrigate grasses that are being grazed on ? I have done this as the old man has irrigation that we have to move the fence every time we run it. Gate handles. It really doesn't work the best for me as I get crab grasses and they seem to eat around where the water hits... Gets tough I guess Or are you looking to cut for hay? Just curious I think concrete grazer said it best as watering grass isn't reAl cost effective

I was thinking about water on my pasture near the pond. Just a few acres.....but it would be a waste probably.

One thing about up here...we don't get flooding like other places. I hunted around Des Arc, AR 15 years ago. The cabin on stilts we drove to was on a good sized river. And the water was maybe 30 ft lower than the cabin. 3 weeks before us, they brought the hunters in by boat, right up to the front porch. If our rivers rose 20', we'd all be under water
That'd be the White River Kevin. It gets darn big fairly regularly. It's just over 1/4 mile from the house and we boat into work about every other year in Batesville.

You know the feeling huh
Those are pretty light weight, but I'm gonna piece them together with the mig gun and make one, at least get one more year. The rings that dad and I have had the best luck with at reasonable cost came from North Arkansas farm supply/co-op. Three piece, orange, skirted
