Yeah buddy. Ended up being an easy fix, and only cost $5 :drive:.
The O-ring between the block and the oil filter adapter was leaking oil so bad you couldn't drive it.
Unfortunately I was chasing the leak in the wrong direction as all the oil was running onto the drivers side drive axle and down all the way to the drivers side CV and then spraying all over so it looked like it was coming from the timing belt cover area more than from the center of the engine ,
Oh well I spent a bit more time than needed to figure it out, but it was still a lot cheaper than the dealer or a new car.

I've seen that leak happen on the 2.2 I4. I'm waiting for my 91 Accord to start doing it LOL.

This is the 2.3, the only year in the Odyssey. We also have a 96 or 97 Accord wagon that has the 2.2 great cars.
I had thought it was the balance shaft seal based on where the oil was at and wasted a lot of time getting to it only to find it was in place and totally dry lol. It worked out great in the end though.

You have some good Hondas on top of good saw!

Mine is starting to leak some at the seal in the distributor and has a small trans leak. Since its my work car I just keep everyhing topped off. It only clocks about 5000 miles a year.

Thanks, I have a 00 insight as well, I need to do some work on it before driving it again. Lifetime average mpg is at 54.4(I think it has 193k on it), I had it up over that, buy the hybrid battery died, the guy who had it before me drove it like you would drive any other car which is not beneficial to the efficiency if these little rides. That car has chased down lots of saws and generators (Honda eu2000/3000is), and cost very little to do so. I need to work on it, but hate to get under a car in the driveway and until I build my pole barn thats pretty much where I'll be working on them. I haven't been motivated to work on it as it's an extra car and I can't fit the kids in it.
The distributor seal is easy; mark the location of the timing, remove cap(helps line up shaft to reinstall distributor) loosen the three bolts, pull the distributor, replace seal, then reverse the process. The shaft can only go one direction as there is an of set piece on the bottom of the distributor gear unlike many of the old Chevy's and such.

This, but it wasn’t quite as good of a deal as I thought.
