Anyone like them all? I like all the brands I currently have husky, stihl, and dolmar/Makita saws and have had several solo's there all great! The classic poulans and homelites and macs all look cool but I haven't owned any of them its a shame those brands are gone they were top of the line in there time and still great today but getting harder to find

I'm not a picky eater..

I'm against the grain on this... not just because I am a dealer but because I feel their pride in there product is second to none. After dealing with other companies, i.e. Milwaukee, Toro, Summit, Fabral, etc. The failure rate is not even on the same page as any of those products. Distributor support and technical help is exceptional in comparison especially to Toro in particular. Without a doubt on the DEALER end if I could go back in time I wouldn't change a thing other than do it sooner. I believe Stihl is kinda like John Deere or Cat, they know they have the name. They know what it stands for. You will pay the premium but to me at least it is worth it in the long run. Just my .02

I can like most any saw, and find that many of the maligned cheapies (like my Poulan 2150) can give very good service if you take care of them and are aware of their limitations. It's more the behavior of their makers that irritates me. Like, Makita doing everything they can to bury Dolmar in favor of their own name and then not even doing a half-assed effort to put the Makita saws into dealerships. Or, Husky making the bizarre decision to slap the Redmax name on the Jred pro saws and turning Jred into just another redundant homeowner brand.

It is disheartening to see companies making bad decisions especially when the brand or name was once well loved and respected and the reputation is being ruined

Electrolux just needs to hurry up and put Husqvarna on all the OPE good or bad instead of having a tiered system, like Stihl does.

I am not sure that is the right answer (PS I don’t think Electrolux owns any of it any more).

They want to sell OPE in every possible channel and I don’t think you can do that with only one brand without hurting your higher end pro business.

But it's worked for Stihl.

Yes and Cal Ranch and some others but the other stores aren’t known for being the bottom feeding low margin retailers that HD and Lowe’s are.

What’s funny to me is to walk into a Pape ag dealership (John Deere) and see a Stihl 66 or 88 but their forestry side can’t sell one same dealership and owners.

I don’t know. Don’t have an answer for that one.
