Both models great saws Imo. My experience is limited on the 064. Never ran one, and for some reason they didn't take off big here. The 66s sure did, and I've run many, and owned one 660.Didn’t see a “definitive” thread on these saws specifically so I thought I’d start one. This is a place to post anything related to them, please post your findings, parts info, cuttin videos ect.... and whatever . I’ve had this 064 for a couple months and after some basic mods and minor repairs today was the first day I’ve really used it. Had some big oak to buck up and thought it would be appropriate for the 064. I can see why these things were such a legend back in there heyday. It’s about as fast as a hot 7900 in cut speed, but with mountains of torque to back up the chainspeed. Feels like I’m holding a slightly heavier 461 in the hands. AV and the filter system are rather dated, but they were good in its time. She likes her fuel as well, that’s why I named it Miss Piggy lol. Makes a nice racket with the loud exhaust and whining flywheel. Great saw with lots of character, puts a smile on your face. View attachment 198788
Hey Mason have you ran this KS cylinder yet? If so how was it?I have a ks non decomp 066 cylinder I was excited to have timed but was disappointed to find these numbers. Especially after hearing all the hype about the early cylinders. I guess there not terrible but was expecting better. View attachment 285659View attachment 285660 I also have a 064 KS cylinder here that I have not had timed yet. My 064 has a mahle cylinder and it’s a good runner.
I have not but I was thinking about trying it on my 52mm 064. Problem is that saw runs so well as is.Hey Mason have you ran this KS cylinder yet? If so how was it?
Gotcha! I got that cylinder on the way for a 660 build. Was hoping it was one that had good starting numbers!I have not but I was thinking about trying it on my 52mm 064. Problem is that saw runs so well as is.
Well they always have room to haggle. I usually ask what they need to get out of it? If they come back with a good number I'll buy it. If not I make an offer and go from there. See what they say?Ran across a 066 several days ago @ a pawnshop.
They are asking $589.
It's in pretty good shape.
I may go look @ it closer tomorrow as I'm wanting a saw mill BAD!
If the P/C are in good shape & it starts, what would you offer cash $$?
Did you ever measure your aftermarket case volume?

Can't really say. Would have to depend on how nice it is? What's it worth to you? What would you pay for it cash if P/C is clean & it starts & runs?
Ask if you can pull the muffler and check the p/c. If they got $589 on it they didn't give more than $300 for it.I'm gonna offer $425- $450 cash & down play it some.
Act like it's my last dime.
It's in pretty good shape.
Pretty clean on the exterior.
I didnt look too close the first time.
A little intimidated, damn PH was the size of a small microwave! Lol
That's gonna happen regardless.Ask if you can pull the muffler and check the p/c. If they got $589 on it they didn't give more than $300 for it.
359's are awesome especially when ported. I love mine! That's gonna happen regardless.
I'm sure they will let me.
I know the owner (haven't talked to him in year) & his dad.
He had a nice 359xp also.
If I have too, I'll offer him a bundle deal!
