Another doozy, though I can't fault the guys as they seem too young & inexperienced to know all the little & big kinks regarding overhauling decade+ old CNC mills.
The mills are Hurco brand, and I personally prefer them tenfold over DMG.
So again, they are not dumb!
They are lacking the know how and are learning on the job.
They did a complete PCU (control computer) overhaul on our oldest 3-axis Hurco.
All new components, fresh software instal, more IT stuff than mechanical.
Yeah, well somehow they ended up with poorly/incompletely translated Spanish UI language and no other selectable language (the machine runs on Windows XP in the background, UI languages are text files).
The screen below should show a couple dozen selectable languages.
We'd mess with new guys and set anything unreadable as the secondary and switch to it via hotkeys.

For some reason they are also unable to load and/or ammend the machines tooling list (it can be transfered from another Hurco mill via USB).
They left the machine idle like this for three days, we shut it down yesterday at the end of the PM shift.

I know the languages should have loaded with the fresh software instal.
No idea what happened with that.
But it says load language at the top, so it should be possible to read in a separate language file.
As for the tooling list, it takes 5 minutes to extract it from one machine and load into this one.
You don't even have to restart the machine, it is plug & play so to speak.
And, yes - I could do that, I even have a dedicated (private) "work" USB stick with backups of all machine parameters & tooling lists.
NOT MY JOB!
Especially after having maintained these machines for years just to be kicked to the curb and treated like a saboteur.
AGAIN!!!
I am not faulting the service/dealership guys.
But I do fault their employer!
I find it amusing and felt like sharing.
