Unfortunately I don't have any back to back vids of stock vs. Cross top ends, but I can say the cross top end ran pretty damn good. Here's the one vid that I have of the cross 066 top end on an 064 in poplar with off the roll stihl rs chain 28" wide nose bar.
Sounds like it's making some good torque hold its rpm nice with that b/c buried

Also one thing I have noticed with work saws is its not always how fast they spin. It's more about how hard you can push on the saw before you stall it out. Big bars and chains can put a workin on a saw cutting out wheel chalks for monster trucks. It's not always a controlled setting letting gravity help you guide a saw down through the cut. Torque is the high card when it comes to dumping and manipulating a tree

Push down too hard and you just wear out the bar prematurely. But I hear you.

If a bar holds up 2 plus years used often then it made its money. *s-word my little Echo top handle had 3 stock bars totally wore out then fitted it with a stihl 200t 14" that lasted me a year non stop till the guides got too much side to side slop. Now it's wears another new 200t bar and yes my saw slings plenty if oil but it's used 209 plus days a year. But I have a new 150t that I'm using for the lighter work now. Apologize for the derail

I thought my 066 was a Beast when I first got it, seemed like you could not slow it down with a 36" bar and an 8 pin. Then I lowered the rakers a bit and reality set it. It now wears a 7 pin, and I don't lean on it too hard.

If this is a comparison video for Bruce, you should use off the roll chain because that's what most guys use.
Then show us how much faster your chain is Mike!

Dan, I've done some testing in the past, and the off the roll Stihl square file chain, and my chain, run pretty much the same. I try to maintain the factory angles for the best combo of speed / durability in hardwood. If I primarily cut softwood, I would go with a steeper angle.

Besides, to test the cylinder, will just run it with the same B&C.

Think your saw with the simple external mods is probably the best for a cylinder comparison vid. Basically it's not a epa saw so it's not gunna run hot and make the power the engine should make.
