I checked both the 572xp and 372xp here with a tach. They were both at 2600-2800rpm. Maybe 572xp just has a choppier lower sounding idle than a 372xp because of the longer stroke? No idea honestly. I just cut wood with my saws.
I took tach shots of the idle speed on the 572xp and ms 462c I was running yesterday. Normally I wouldn’t care, but I was inspired to investigate. They both sound different at idle but I think that has to do with the motor/muffler design.

Yep, the 572 has a deep muffler tone

Can't beat that even with a screw driver....where I set all my saws. Been running the 562's this winter and liking the fact a 20-30 second warmup at high idle is all I need when the temps on a given day are a lot different than the last day I run them, Had a 15 degree day on one, it tuned itself on that day from the 30 degrees day before, and yesterday from the 15 degree day to the 60 degree day. No fuss , just let them warm up and cut like its a rented saw.

Yes, I use 32:1 with the Husqvarna "blue cap" oil vs. the red / orange cap "full synthetics" on all my saws. Have for years, no issues. Different oil's do have different properties so what I do with the oils available to me may not translate directly to the oils available to u. Anywhere from 32:1 - 50:1 works with the right oils, would follow what ever the dealer is willing to support with warranty :) . I still use 32:1 for my reasons but not going to paste them all around on the forums or get into yet another oil "discussion" :)

Haven’t dug into my issue until I was hipped to someone else’s problem today. I followed up. This saw has less than 10 tanks through it. If this isn’t the issue, I’d be surprised. I’ll be disappointed if it is.

That’s a pop off test of the carb from the filter connection
Carb leaked at the metering valve. Not a great video, but I can hear the blow by in the Venturi

Time to get the cotton ear swab and toothpaste. Polish the needle seat. Spray out with carb cleaner. Maybe stretch the spring a little to give it more pressure. Retest. I like at least 15-20psi before it pops off to keep tank pressure in the summer heat from forcing the needle open.

This is assuming by metering valve... that you mean the needle seat area. The nozzle is a entirely different part. If the nozzle is leaking you’ll need a new one of those. Unfortunately.

At this point, I’m glad to find this. It’s boxed in I think.

Surprised it wouldn’t pass pressure test. Wasn’t too surprised to find this when I opened it, given the test.
But still surprised this happened on a 10 tank or less saw.

I’d be looking at two things after seeing that. #1 checking to see if your fuel filter is still on the fuel hose and changing the filter. #2 looking in your gas storage can to see if there is debris in it.

I have seen the same thing, almost plugged screens on low hour saws.
My guess is that there was a bad batch of fuel filters. That junk can ruin a main nozzle fast. Way to many main nozzle failures in the past year.
I have seen one on a 572 and several on 562s...
