Cylinder mounting is just a little wider than a 661/500i so a new plate wasn't necessary just a couple of new holes.

Edit; The impulse located on the outside of the cylinder instead of the inside makes dialing it in much easier.

The one thing that I absolutely did not like was the hose pipe from the primer to the carburetor was too long to the point it didn't want to stay on very well. After discussing it with @Jlstihl it was decided best for it to be replaced, I opted for a 6mm Echo line about one third less in length. This seems satisfactory and I believe that Husqvarna should have mad a purposely built line, instead of using the same from other 5 series.

Very nice!! Have to watch that impulse, the sealing ribbon gets very close to falling off the base with too much band cut. I changed my recipe to a bit less cut after seeing that.

Yes indeed, I saved the gasket as it had such a robust base and just made sealing happen with that ring around the impulse hole.

Watched a video the other day and saw the rest of that special cover cloth. 😅

You think using the knocker on the flywheel moved it or was it crook from the factory?
Who said it was special? Or funny for that matter.

Hard to say after the fact, however seeing as this is the first time for such an event, it could be said that it would be unusual for a flywheel knocker to do such a thing(only took two hits to remove it), however, also seeing as I was able to tap it into shape with a few wacks of that little brass hammer cold, may just be plausible.
Only way I could prove/disprove it would be to take it back apart again and that's not going to happen, so we may never know in the end, take your pick.

View attachment 376835The cover cloth and the missing part off the bottom off those pants seemed to share a similarity is all.
I thought that was both special and funny.

I also use old T shirts for shop rags, firefucktrucking hilarious I tell you what.

Steve very nice and detailed write up.

Someone is licking their chops to have this one full steam ahead in their wood pile.

Steve, any observations on these new carbs, the spiral diaphragm, evolution of technology, more reliable?

Nice to see you taking care of that carb, how many of these builders have I seen on youtube throw everything into a junk dirty box.

Carburetor is an Walbro HDA that comes with the new spiral diaphragm.
Note the hole in the choke plate, this must be how it can start and not choke out and stay running with the choke still on.
Which is very nice.

Thanks. glad someone appreciated it.

Won't be in a woodpile, rather making them as a loggers saw.

The spiral diaphragm will last a ling time and won't degrade in performance, but does come at a hefty premium in $$$.
Even though I've seen 562's that went way past a reasonable service, the autotune covered for it and kept things chugging along.

I try and keep all the internals as clean as I possibly can and this is just one of many steps taken towards that endeavor.
I can't be minding what others are doing as I can only affect change to my immediate surroundings and at times. that's plenty enough a chore.
