Yes indeed, I saved the gasket as it had such a robust base and just made sealing happen with that ring around the impulse hole.Very nice!! Have to watch that impulse, the sealing ribbon gets very close to falling off the base with too much band cut. I changed my recipe to a bit less cut after seeing that.
Watched a video the other day and saw the rest of that special cover cloth.Cover it up while I take a break.

You think using the knocker on the flywheel moved it or was it crook from the factory?Noticed that it was very stiff to turn over and sure enough a couple of pops with a brass hammer and the side tension in the bearings was relieved.

Who said it was special? Or funny for that matter.Watched a video the other day and saw the rest of that special cover cloth.

View attachment 376835The cover cloth and the missing part off the bottom off those pants seemed to share a similarity is all.
I thought that was both special and funny.
Carburetor is an Walbro HDA that comes with the new spiral diaphragm.
Note the hole in the choke plate, this must be how it can start and not choke out and stay running with the choke still on.
Which is very nice.
Thanks. glad someone appreciated it.Steve very nice and detailed write up.
Someone is licking their chops to have this one full steam ahead in their wood pile.
Steve, any observations on these new carbs, the spiral diaphragm, evolution of technology, more reliable?
Nice to see you taking care of that carb, how many of these builders have I seen on youtube throw everything into a junk dirty box.
