Tearing into a Husqvarna 592xp

Taking a look at a 592xp as it's taken down for porting and what was noticed along the way.

Let's get it on the bench and get started.

Without the air filter the large adapter looks familiar, but has some subtle differences like wire routing than other 5-series.

Muffler has a nice cover on the front and is all stainless steel. Extra mounting bolt goes to the cylinder and is free and independent of the case. Bolts are 6mm steel, T-27 heads, with a 4mm Allen head SS screw for the cover.

With the muffler removed we can see the exhaust port which is very rough and has like a swirl pattern cast into it.

Standard inboard clutch and drum sprocket with c-springs on the clutch.

Flywheel has 390 type of pawls for starting.

Needed a T27 L wrench to get inside the AV attached to the cylinder, my T handle wouldn't fit.

Stratos on top carburetor on the bottom.
Nice metal flanges for attachment.

Sometimes in life, things don't always go in order as planned. The only reason there was pic one was the saw prior got bumped for new parts, when I got said parts, all were not there as some were back ordered. At which point this build had to be completed instead of waiting for the previous to get finished first like it should have.

One thing that I really like what Husqvarna had done was recess the threads in the case that hold the cylinder down and the exhaust as well. This will keep it from pulling metal up over time and reduce distortion, which is a good thing.
