I'm waiting to hear from @srcarr52 before I post any pics of the p/c. It was his saw to begin with, and I respect him, so it's his call.
there was no messed up bolts or threads
Gotcha. Thanks Shaun. Pics are coming.Go for it! Marking look correct on the cylinder.
Btw that's not the muffler I sent it out with and there was no messed up bolts or threads.
Am I missing a bolt, in add to the one that's way too long?
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. View attachment 85489
Thanks Randy. Not really. Some have limiters with rubber on them there.....but not all.

Hard to tell from the picture but under the exhaust port it sorta looks like the plating is peeling. I hope I'm wrong
It looks more like wear to me, but I can be wrong. I trust you guys when it comes to this stuff. It's pretty smooth, though.Hard to tell from the picture but under the exhaust port it sorta looks like the plating is peeling. I hope I'm wrong
Thanks. I'll get a new piston, bearing and clips before it goes together again. Do you have an opinion on the wear?Piston is my handywork, clips are not what I would have used. Looks like it's due for a new piston anyway.
Cylinder looks untouched from when it left except for he wear under the exhaust port.
That would be fantastic. This saw does run very well, and I like it a lot.I'd get a new piston. I'm happy to doctor up one for you if you'd like.
This saw was partially scored by the owner before jason. He couldn't tune a carburetor. I cleaned it and sent it back to him. It looks like it's had plenty of runtime since then.
they don't need to be tight ??The first couple of things I noticed is that there is a handlebar screw, meant to thread into plastic, used to hold the top cover on. So, that hole is farked...
The other thing is that the screw holes for the handlebar in th tank are stripped. They just spin, but stay in there. I actually approached J about it when I got the saw, and he said he didn't know that, and that they didn't need to be tight anyways, as long as they kept the handlebar in place...View attachment 85468 View attachment 85467
