Wow! That is some cool info right there Steve! I never knew that. I always felt like my screwdriver was shot or the wrong size on them. Now I know why!!!

I suspected that to be the answer. I cant tell you how many Jap dirtbike front brake reservoirs I have stripped in 30 years. Well Im getting a new screwdriver soon thats for sure. I'm betting a lot of people dont know unless they are auto techs.

What brand and do you know if its a number 1 or 2 sized tip ? To the best of my figuring I think a 1 will work.

So I deleted the gasket and had .011 squish. So I sanded it with sandpaper glued on to the old piston. Got it back to .0165.
Bolted it up.
Opened up the exhaust a bit. Boy was it full of carbon.
All back together, fired it up. I forgot to trim the limiters, [emoji12], she was taching at 15,800!!! Holy crap.
Gotta trim those limiters. And put an edge on the butter knife chain[emoji33]

Now what is the compression reading? What size exhaust port you have now? Or what percent larger?

I didn't check compression. I like to get at least a little run time first. I'll check it tomorrow.
I cut open the port where the screen goes maybe 3/8". It could probably be bigger yet. I'll get a pic tomorrow too. And maybe a video...

Great, thanks Steve. I'll see where she tunes too in a bit. Probably leave it a bit rich, I think I remember reading these saws are stronger tuned rich.

Just checked compression. It's sitting right at 145. This is with new rings and 2 min run time last night.
Here is the exhaust mod.

I'm not sure how much they like to be opened up? Didn't want to make it to loud.

Trimmed the limiter and realized the high screw was bent pretty bad. Fortunately I saved a junk carb from a 192t and the high screw was the same. All set now.

Why is it at 145 was this a refurbished cyl ? Did you use an old piston? Did you pull the saw 12 times or till it stopped rising?

To be honest I forgot that my gauge is suddenly reading very low. The 346 I did I couldn't get above 135 and it was tough to pull over. So it's probably much higher than that... I need to get some new shrader valves...
New oem piston and rings. I'm sure it will get better as it breaks in too.
