So today the dealer tells me it's cheaper to replace the carb than buy a carb kit. I'm in serious need of a actual dealer in these parts
Did he qualify that? Was he talking OEM or chinese...if he is talking OEM I call BS, if he is referring to Chinese....that depends on if you get a good carb, chances are you may buy two or three before getting a good one and then you are at the same price or more than OEM. I have had good luck putting Amazon gasket kits in OEM carbs, but Amazon carbs have been a crap shoot. I like buying the five or 10 packs of carb kits when possible.

He quoted a OEM carb but it wasn't a wt194 the OEM rebuild was 25ish an the carb was around 100. I jus kinda shook my head an told him I'd buy it from walbro. It's sad that u can even talk someone into that stupidity

They literally didn't have a .325X7t rim sprocket I was like are u sure u are understanding what I'm asking for he said yes but they were waiting on their "spring" order. So I'm currently looking for a good dealer in Southern Indiana

Best of luck, they are few and far between.

Where I worked, it was the same way, the buyers were clueless as to what they ordered. I found that a good relationship with our mechanic (working in a different city), he was able to order parts that I could sell, so if I had a rash of people who wanted a certain rim sprocket, bar nuts or what ever it might be, I could get it from him. I had him sending me 5 bags of bar nuts (10 nuts in each bag) a month and would sell out regularly...not sure what these people were doing with them, but I kept selling them. Another stupid thing was trying to get loggers tapes, finally got a couple in and they sold withing two days...couldn't get any more from the buyers, they said there wasn't a market for them...

That’s because they were selling you the limited replacement for the wt194. A universal Oregon wt kit is about 7-8$ and I’ve probably used 60 of them no issues. The fuel line grommet going into tank is a fair bit larger think old straight line had a 10mm hole and the new one is around 13mm.

What I’ve found,,, if you do all the research first, then go in there and ask for what you want by “part number”

When they ask you anything else and you have the answers to there questions they normally take a back seat.

I had a similar situation asking for a part by part number and then I got asked for. What saw it was for . I answered him and then he looked it up, then asked for the serial number and I just quoted I think “ the serial number change of part number was “ and the serial number of my saw is……
He just said I was just checking to be sure, and I said Thankyou

As for the fuel line thing in a previous post, I think I recall 🤔 they did supersede a part and it was that you had to drill out the hole.
However. There will be a bulletin/update somewhere. And something will be in the ipl about serial numbers and the part number etc.

Anyway have fun getting pissed with someone that thinks that they know more than everyone else that comes in there shop 😉

No crank seals? I’ve have no issues with aftermarket seals for cheap but even oem is less than 25-30$ a set and that seems to be a real common part that burns them down. If it revs up when you turn in on it side that’s a sign the seals are stiff and leaking some. Did pressure and vacuum both? Crank seals sometimes hold pressure but not vacuum and you should roll crank over slowly by hand while testing to check for weak/stiff seals

I think it was only pressure I took it to a buddy so I'm not sure bc I didn't ask it did feel nice an free w the flywheel off seems to hold a tune really well an the idle doesn't change when turned on either side upside down etc. I was honestly surprised bc I'm an unlucky person. Started bone dry in 6 pulls carb was/is at a Lil over a turn out on each still looking for a rim sprocket so I'll do a Lil cutting an see how she does

Try getting a 3/8 small spline for the 026.
