From what I can see, that is going to be a very good saw after you get it thoroughly cleaned and refurbed. Take your time and try to avoid getting crap where it shouldn't go (like into an open exhaust port.) Be especially attentive to any of the rubber parts (AV buffers, fuel hose, intake boot, impulse hose).

Good luck! I'm envious - it's been too long since I've had a nice 026 like that to rehab.

Figured I'd leave the cylinder on an replace fuel line impulse etc an at least see if it'll run supposedly it been giving away twice bc it won't start
Pull the cylinder, make sure bearings are tight and smooth then re ring, change fuel line, build carb inspect intake boot, change crank seals and put back together. Saws at least 25 years old just give it a good cleaning and refresh it will probably go another 25-30 with little problems. You need to use the base gasket on this saw unless you remove the ridge on edge of squish band. Also may need to drill tank out for new bent fuel line since old straight one is discontinued. All oem rubber whe going back together because the aftermarket boots ect are garbage for most part.

Ya yer prolly right about that sir it has to be pretty close to 30 yrs old the fuel line looks bent an has the Lil ridges an such like my ms400 I'd guess it prob has a air leak or two is why it won't run being that old so no need in firing it up an damaging a OEM cylinder. I'm union pipefitter/welder by trade so I believe u get what u pay for so only way I'd buy AM is if it's NLA

Clean it all off before/if you pull the cylinder. Behind flywheel and clutch too.

I got a good running, but filthy 026 years ago for $95.

I stripped, cleaned it, and dressed the bar. Rim was shot and it got a new RS chain too.

I scrape off what I can then use a spray bottle with diesel and parts/tooth brushes. Diesel is cheap. I do it over a plastic tote then recycle the diesel to start/burn brush with in the winter.

Plug up the intake and ex well.

Rinse with some dish detergent to get rid of diesel/stank.

Anyone have the part number for the new style fuel line? Its cracked where it makes the tight bend before the carb im assuming that's the reason for the updated line
