I honestly believe its more of an epa thing look at the ms361 and ms341 the only diff is a carb and the biggest diff is the 341 has open transfers verses closed transfers.you cant buy the ms341 in the states its only european. i know open tranfers imo seem to spool up faster. Look at the 020 and 200t top handle saws how snappy they are on the throttle stock,

I must say ive always thought the 020 / 200 were very snappy that's why I recomened the open port on the last page. #44

I also think the spacer might be why they run so well.i know a porter who builds saws who isnt on the sight with the muffler spaced away from cylinder.he calls it a grunt gasket

I'm guessing for press/vac test. I use a piece of a mountain bike inner tube to block off exhaust and intake when testing thru impulse line
I took it as he was not wanting to build it read his post says its sealed off and not building it.

I think he uses it on other saws he's testing? If he builds it he have to find something else ?
I made some out of aluminum signs and glued roof rubber to them !! I'm a cheap ass.

I'm sorry, did not realize I was not clear (was clear in my mind)! That spacer is a lot easier to use when vac/pressure testing, in sealing the exhaust, than anything else. A lot less cumbersome than the muffler.
Sorry bud we are back and forth trying to figure ut out thanx .
