For you Florida boys @Cracker Boy @customcutter @Motorhead there are quite a few Makitas at the Home Depot’s in the Hillsborough and Pinellas area at the moment. Both 6421’s and the 4300’s. I’d be all over those if I were down there. I’m coming down to visit in January, and I’m hoping there are some of those saws left. Lol. Nothing left up here now, I’ve made sure of that :D

You talking new or in the rental dept for sale? I know 5-6 years ago I bought a used sod cutter for 1/10 the cost of a new one. Ran it till I sold my business this year. All I ever replaced was a broken belt. Great buy, and sold it for 3X what I paid for it.:)

Used, in the rental dept. You can get a good saw at a decent price there. The prices they list aren’t the lowest they’ll take either. Just make sure to check the saw out good before taking it home. I’ve gotten a few this way.

Parts are easy to get online. We have a few very good dealers here on the site. Usually only a few days away.
Some AM parts are available, but OEM isn't bad.
They are some of the smoothest saws out there, and very high quality.

Had to work on a project with the wife this morning ... fixed some broken cabinet hinges (you can't find replacements with the same pocket cuts) with Loctite PL Premium ... I love that stuff!

Then I got mad at myself for not having been out hunting yet this year. Don't think I have ever been this late in my entire life (since old enough to do it). So I searched through the shed and got my hunting clothes, boots, knives, range finder, etc., got the climbing tree stand down and the cross bow ready.

Was in my tree by 3:00, and by 4:15 a 4 point buck was on the ground. Watched it for 20 minutes before it gave me a good shot. I have never taken a deer in so little time in my life, and it was also my first deer with a cross bow. It is a CenterPoint 370 and I love it, made a 30 yard broadside shot seem almost too easy. I thought it was a 6 point, but no matter, the body is a decent size so we will have some venison in the freezer! Pressure is off, good thing, cause I still have people that want wood or splitting, or cutting, etc.

If I hunt more now, can only take a doe. On the 18th, I'll have 3 more weeks to take another buck.

Im the same way. Havnt had time to do much hunting at all this year. This is our muzzle loader hunt week. I told myself i was gonna shoot the first one that came by. I shot my deer after 20 mins in to the hunt. Sat ther for a cpuple hours after just relaxin. Seen two does and two big bucks.
Should have waited but oh well. Gett8ng lots done this week now anyhow.
Was hopin to get out goose hunting but just cant find the time.

Today a water softener .This one had the electronic unit go south .I get about 5-6 years out of one hard water ,clear water iron .I've tried them all and as far as I'm concerned a cheap one works about as good as a more costly one .I got about a hundred off this one at Lowes with it being on sale plus veterans discount .Didn't take long, about an hour .Part of my woods looks like a salvage yard for old water softeners ,iron filters etc .Out of sight out of mind .

Too bad Sears is going down hill, I got a Kenmore Elite unit from them several years ago and I love it. Very little Salt or Water usage, and it also has a built in filter.

The reduced water usage let me get a few extra years out of the well before I had to re do it. That was expensive, I'm now down over 1,300 feet and it cost almost 20 G, but so far (knock on wood) it has been working well. (pardon the pun). Can't live w/o water!

Question about which softener you ended up with. Don’t have one but need one. Previous property owner took there’s with them, and I’ve stalked long enough.
