I have no hang-ups w/ snakes. I wear the wood stove gloves because when they feel threatened, they piss/poop on ya and that *s-word stinks!!! Hate it.
I find them in my wood piles all the time! Can't tell you how many splits I throw in the wood burner with shed skin on them!

Today, I managed to spend my day off on the wrong end of a rake, wheelbarrow, mower, lawn and leaf bags...raking, sucking up and bagging leaves. Fun, fun ain't it?

Garter snakes are good, they control the mice and they won't bother you, make good pets too! We even had one living in my cabin up state, it use to stick it's head out of the wood pile and just watch us. Unfortunately, it did not survive the winter. Looked like it tried to hibernate in a box, and we think the mice just ate it. We found the entire skeleton in the box.

Don't see as many snakes as you used to in a lot of places cause they wild turkeys they re introduced eat the little ones.

Today Groundi and I cleaned up and burned some brush, I cut some maple branches into smoker wood (12" length), cleaned up a bunch of bark and chips from the wood processing area and sold a chainsaw. First saw I've sold for a long time. About 50 more to go, lol. It was an MS390 and the guy and his wife drove 2 hours to get here. I threw in a scrench and a new spare chain. He started it from cold and cut a few cookies with it. I installed a brand new bar and chain and off they went.

Watched it rain most of the day. Listed a couple of saws on 'the bay, nothing special, just good condition saws. I have near 30 that I'm gonna trim down to maybe 10 or less. Next Spring I'll try to build it back up a bit. Saws really hard to sell this year unless you're in a charitable mood..

The saw I sold today is the first one in a long time that I sold from a CL ad. It's been slow for the last two years here.

Today I had to see the doctor for a steroid injection in my neck. Been having problems for many many years and it keeps getting worse. All went well as expected, told me not to drive for the rest of the day, not to operate heavy equipment and to sit down and take it easy. Well I didn't listen too well, I went out and hooked up the log arch to the RZR and pull a log to take some measurements for some mods I want to do. Well now I'm regretting not taking it easy. The novacane they used to numb the nerves and muscles has worn off and evidently I should have listened. I kinda feel like a really bad hangover now. Way to go dummkopf!

Parts came in today so I cleaned off the coffee table and assembled the 390 engine on it (cardboard). Wife gone tomorrow so I'm put the rest of the saw together then...
