I just wanted to add for anyone considering a pole saw/pruner set up to definitely shop for prices as they vary a lot. I found the best price from Tree Stuff but not sure if that's still the case. If you buy extra poles, they'll adjust the length of the pruner pull rope accordingly. Shipping can be expensive on these since they're "oversize" so get all the poles you may want at the same time. I have 3x 6' + a 4' and I don't think more than that is practical. (but I'm glad I didn't get less as I often use them all)

Thank You for sharing.

Glenda and I talk over any expensive purchases. And we talk over decisions that have to be made concerning our cattle.

Now chainsaws are how I make a living, so she stays completely out of anything to do with that sort of stuff.

We're talking about getting a new UTV for the farm......and we decided together to hold onto our steers till spring.

Y'all know better than anyone when the time is right for a utv, but those are an absolute life saver if you are looking after land, & especially livestock.

It's the modern day horse that you can haul all your stuff with, & it has an off switch, it doesn't kick, & it doesn't normally have a hateful Personally like a lot of equine do...

I got an ATV mostly for my 50 acres upstate a few years ago, and to tell you the truth, I don't know how I managed for so long w/o it! It's a lifesaver, timesaver, etc, etc. Makes you so much more productive, both in work & play.

And in the Winter, it plows my driveway, lickity split!

I always figured I would just buy an old Jeep CJ5 before buying a UTV. Less money and you can go to town for an errand if needed. I don't have either...
This is why you can't find Suzuki Samurais around here anymore. When the UTV craze hit everybody bought them up for the same reason. Why spend $10k - $15k on a utv when you can buy a Samurai that is the same size and drive it wherever you want. For $5k I can put every aftermarket accessory known to man on a Samurai and make it virtually unstoppable.

around here you can drive the utvs on the road and my aunt takes hers to walmart easier on gas than their truck
Not bashing but there must be a different law in WV. I see atv's and utv's on the roads everywhere once I cross over in to WV. I even had a guy pass me on the highway one morning on an ATV.

As requested here are some pics of the log arch. I didn't have a welder at the time so I had a friend weld it up. He started on it one day with out telling me and didn't quite understand what I really wanted. But it works so can't be to fussy. All the steel was free I had the winch laying in the shed, the cable came off my wheeler winch when I went to a synthetic rope. I paid $25 for the axle and tires from a Buick Century, and $12 for the 2" hitch. I still have a couple things to weld on it is functional. I already have plans to make another one now that I have my own welder.

Installed a bunch of LED lights in a good friend's barn, he previously had nothing in there and was struggling to get anything done with it going dark so early IMG_3808.JPG

Another gang of 5 lights to go in down the other side and a 50W flood to go at the other end
